Colored Noodles

3:45- 4:30 WORST Time of Day.

Kids are bored and Mom is thinking about supper, wishing daddy would hurry up and get home from work.

Enter Noodles, rubbing alcohol and food coloring.

So We colored some noodles and for the last couple of days- the girls make bracelets and necklaces while I blog work on dinner or laundry or sweeping or.....

NOTE: Little A is 2 and she is not very good at threading yet... BUT she is great if you give her a pipe cleaner instead. Because its stiff she can get it to go into the noodles!!

The girls love doing this! And  I UBER LOVE that they can do it sitting at the kitchen table unsupervised! They did it while I put away laundry~ and they were busy for 45 mins cause.......
Iphone Photo
they made Daddy 6 bracelets and a necklace for his BIRTHDAY!

He was such a good sport and wore them all evening! You are sure loved Daddy!

Confession

Alright peoples, I have a confession to make...

My life is not as hunky dory as I pretend it is.... AHHH SHOCK eh?

Wooh... awkward topic.

What brought this on?
Have you read this article.. about Mormon Housewife's blogs?
Ok...stop reading my post and go read it... I'll wait.

waiting.....

Ok. See the part about "put on a happy face"and putting a positive spin on life~ thats me.
I have a hard time telling ANYONE what I am struggling with or what is bothering me (in blog or in real life).
Sure I have my opinions~ but when it comes right down to it... I don't say anything about whats really bugging.

Nope.
I just hide it.
Yup, typical Heather.

Then once I get over it, or come to terms with it... or the worst -someone guesses what is going on and calls me out~ then and only then do I emerge.

Case in point, I briefly blogged about Slave Lake~ weak moment I guess... and truth is Justin and I have just ( like last night) recently discussed it in detail.  Sure we have known for months that this was coming  but Neither one of us has wanted to admit it, so we buried our heads in the sand until we HAD to discuss it.

Or I buried my head at least.

But I do have my problems.... life is not so fantastic, but I choose to focus on the positive parts of my life rather then the negative. :)

Favorite FHE EVER!

On Monday night we fired up the fire pit for FHE.

It. was. hilarious.

Mr. Justin did NOT want the fire pit for numerous reasons. His biggest reason- the mess. Yup you read that right. JUSTIN not me was worried about the mess. He has this thing with sticky marshmallows~ so he has been dreading this first family marshmallow roast all month!

We start out- everything going dandy.

Although it take a bit of gas to get the flames going.

Grover Baby was happy, girls pactiently waiting for the go ahead to roast, Mommy snaping photos and teasing Daddy about needing gas to get the fire going.

Then out came the roasting hangers

Girls quickly tire from holding roasting hangers, so Daddy takes over..

Handing out the Marshmallows.

Eating...

Eating...

Crying~ What happened...

oh A took her Marshmallow with her HAIR.

HA HA HA HA
I was laughing so hard, Mr. Justin did NOT think it was funny.

More Eating.... drop a Marshmallow~ a few drop over the corse of this evening. This is where Mr. Justin was D.O.N.E. He couldn't stand the thought of a sticky marshmallow getting stepped on, then tracked through the yard and house..

Mommy had a great evening laughing, Mr. Justin tried his darnest not to have fun. He grumped it up all evening.. but I saw him suppress a smile every now and then.

Note: this post makes Justin sound like a grump-~he's not usually~thats what made this FHE so fun... everything was frustrating for him!

Fail

I found a new blog the other day (thanks Pintrest)
Amanda has a some pointers on shooting with your DSL

I've been fooling around with mine, trying to get a little better each time I whip out my camera.

Then this photo happened.

Fail.
Umm... yeah. Think I'll re-read those pointers.

CRAFTY QUESTION

Ok...
Its time to hang pictures in Baby B's room.

Considering the colors of his room~

Would it look good to do all Black and White Hangings with 1 photo of color?

THE PICTURE OF THE BUG FOR BABY"S ROOM
I am thinking cars~ STARING the picture of the bug Justin drew~

then all the others would be black and white...

Usually I know exactly what I wanna do, but I am not sure if this will look awkward.. what do you think?

Salsa Chicken

Thanks to Pintrest we have found a new Chicken favorite!

I made this yesterday - on my porch. Thats one of my secrets when cooking in the summer heat. Put your crock pot on your porch and I also put my rice cooker out there!

Anywho- my family LOVED this Chicken.
Easy and the girls each had 2 helpings.... so did mom and dad!
I wanted to top it off with Black Beans, Cheese and Fresh tomatoes like she suggested~ but forgot! Next time I will for sure!

So be sure to check out Chef Mommy

Beach Towel Dresses

Last Thursday I attended a sewing session with Raymond 1st Ward.
The project- Beach Towel Dresses

I had wanted to make it last summer, but never got around to it! So it was great to get together with other ladies and get'er done!

The whole Shirring took me a while to figure out. Only because my machine was being silly and it took me a hour and a half just to get the elastic thread to work! Once I finally got going it was pretty easy.

No her dress is not lop sided- she just wouldn't hold still!!
(Swimsuits DO go underneath, due to nap time closing in fast, mom just dressed um in them for a quick photo....)

Lisa's girls Towel Dresses minus Keria's she's working on it!

Super cute eh?

Easy project- but we had to keep reminding our selves that it was JUST a Beach Coverup. Little things kept being annoying, and it was getting slightly frustrating- then we would say- its JUST a Beach dress for swimming!

Now that I practiced on towels, hopefully when I attempt a "shirring" dress it will go much smoother!

Weird..... lately songs just keep coming to me, almost un-natural like... one minute I'm thinking, speaking or doing something and I burst into silent song... um maybe my Tourette's is rearing its ugly head.
Strange.

Thunder in the Valley.

This year- Dianne took the girls with her Thursday afternoon- leaving me and Justin a pleasant night aloneish. We headed out to  Blairmore Friday after Justin was done work- listening to the radio, laughing and talking with out interruption ALL THE WAY there. Don't get me wrong- I am so in love with my little girls, but a drive without them was nice.

Friday consisted of setting up camp (men set up while we chilled in the trailer) and then as we were getting to bed, K realized I forgot to pack her clean panties.

Ya- normally you would think no biggie... not my 3 year old- she changes panties more often then a ______ . She was in a tizzy- Grandma to the rescue. Grandma convinced her to sleep with no panties and we would wash the ones she was wearing- and Grandpa would BUY her some panties for later... sheesh. Good thing for Grandma's and Grandpa's saving the pantie dilemma of the year!

Saturday up and getting ready for the parade- We were all wondering when the parade started- so my little bro Mark decided to take matters in his own hands and just started informing people it started at 10! So we rushed around getting ready- show up at the route and discovered we were a hour early.
Oh well. Good thing camping is a relaxing sort of event.

Chilled at the park for a while then headed over to get a spot.

A parade is a parade.
But this time little miss A- cleaned up.
She had more candy at then end then anyone!

In fact her bag was 4 times fuller then K's.
It helped that no other kids were beside her.
And the 3 adults next to us (un-related) who
thought she was adorable and assisted her
candy efforts.
She was even tossed a beach ball- oh heaven
help us when this blonde is older.

After the parade it was getting slightly hot- so in good ol Martin Fashion - water guns were brought out and we spent the next hour or so cooling down.

Lunch and naps soon came - and while the Grandma's and little ones slept- the older ones headed to the car show!

Now one of those is Justin's Dream Car- a Belaire 19something

Our group got split up walking back on the railroad tracks- and a couple of them got caught by the cops and offered a stern warning. The one policeman even said to Mark- "that is a jail-able crime!"

Good thing I got a photo before they got caught!

Upon arrival back to camp-the Worseys had finally made their fashionably late arrival! ha ha Just kidding, they changed their plans last minute and decided to come!

The nappers were awake and we all headed to the Fair. We didn't take the girls last year- they were WAY to young, but this year the girls saw the fair being set up as they arrived on Thursday with Aunt Dianne and that was ALL K could talk about.

So we did the petting zoo, a carnie game, the roller-coaster for toddlers and the side.

Click this photo to see the girls faces better!
Aylish - Lisa's little girl is three just like K- she is the one sitting in front of K and A. I LOVE this series of photos, her face is so cute. Justin said our girls were going to be scared- secretly I was hoping they would be- it makes for a adorable photo, but they laughed and grinned the whole time.

It was a great day- while we waited the last couple of hours before the fireworks.... it rained. No Poured is a better word. It was crazy. One minute is was sprinkling the next minute it was like the clouds were dumping a lake!It stopped in time for the fireworks though!

This year we let K stay up for them.... not sure if we will let her next year or not. Sunday she was sure ornery. But she did enjoy them immensely.

Thanks for the great time again Blairemore!
