2015 Balloon Glow

Another amazing year at the Balloon Glow for the International Balloon Festival.
It has been a windy weekend and we only saw them fly a couple times.
On Thursday morning, I saw on Facebook they were flying, so I tossed the kids in the van and we chased them for a couple hours.

Hearing Barker and Remy "ohhh" and "Ah" was worth the drive.

We had some joiners come and see the Balloons this year. After seeing and hearing about the fantastic glow from us for a couple years, Jen, Dianne and Sherliyn all joined us with their kids, of course Laura and Grandpa and Grandma were there too :)

It was super windy Friday but plus 22. Come evening, the wind slowed down and the temperature dropped. Luckily we had prepared for the drop and no one got cold.

How lucky we are for High River to have such a amazing event!

It was a amazing day. The spirit was so strong at the baptism. Kalia listened and was attentive, she had a great time. We did have a bit of jealousy at one point. Its been a long week of "Kalia" days.

Kalia had a great day. After her baptism we had everyone (who could) stay for lunch. We served chili, stew, soup and cornbread. My friend Jocii spoiled Kalia with a beautiful CTR cake. I was delicious and darling.

After a crazy morning and when we got home late that afternoon, we napped.

Baptism Photos

Tomorrow Kalia is getting baptized a member of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She has chosen a good path and we are so excited for her.

We got her pictures taken for her Special Baptism Gift by Anona Adams and we LOVE them.

BMX spot in the trees.

Went on a walk yesterday morning with a friend. A walk with our toddlers through the trees and to the river- on our way she pointed out a amazing BMX spot. When Justin got home from work and the girls got home from school, we headed back  this afternoon. You can bet- he loved it. The girls had a good time too. It did end in tears, but thats to be expected sometimes :)

GROSS real life

We have been in the house for 5 months. And this basement toilet started acting up 3 weeks ago. Turns out, the girls needed to learn how much toilet paper they are allowed to use. It got so bad Justin had to take the toilet off on Saturday morning- lets just say it was not fun to empty a toilet full of poop & water and the smell was absolutely disgusting. 3 days later he got it unplugged and put back together. We now have a line of tape, do NOT under any circumstances use more then that amount of toilet paper.

Real life memories.

Ears, Bikes and Leaves

Saturday we managed to get enough play time in to make the kids ridiculously grumpy and exhausted, by 4:00 pm.

We started off the morning with a family bike ride along the River in Okotoks, Fall is my favorite time of year. I am determined to pass my love of the season onto my children. We biked for about a hour, and by the time we finished 3 out of 4 kids  had a streak of mud up their back. After the bike ride we played at the park for a bit, headed to Wendys for lunch then a quick stop at the Skatepark for a little boy who was desperate to go.

He loved the Skatepark, loved it. He did so well, I mean, he fell a lot. But not once did he cry or get frustrated, he just had a blast.

After the morning biking we took Kalia into get her ears pierced for her Birthday. However, Kalia is a giant chicken, and she wouldn't even dream of doing it herself. When Justin and I told her what we wanted to get her ears pierced for her Birthday. Kalia was all excited for about 2 seconds, then she  realized it may hurt. So we offered to let Annaliesse get her ears pierced too. Kalia goes "Ya ok, and she has to go first." Kalia was so nervous, she just about didn't do it. Annaliesse was so excited she almost killed the family with her annoying joy.

So after biking we headed into Calgary to get the girls ears pierced.
Annaliesse went first, and she was stoked. Just so excited. Kalia's Birthday has been the best thing that has happened to her for months :)

No tears or frowns for this girl!

Now it was Kalia's turn. Her parents could have been more supportive, but they were to busy giggling. Her face was just hilarious. Here a few more pics, so you too, can enjoy her facial expressions.

No tears for Kalia either, but her expressions made everyone laugh. Good Job Kalia, and Happy Birthday Honey.

Annaliesse spent the rest of the day randomly saying, "Look I got my ears pierced" or "I wear earrings now" Kalia spent the rest of the day complaining about soar ears.

We ended the day with a big shop at Superstore, this is when the kids started their slow meltdowns...

And she is smiling and meaning it. A rough day for a tender soul and skin little girl :)

Happy 8th Birthday Kalia!

As I Watch You Grow

Day 01

by  Kay Theese
Day 14

Do you know how much you mean to me?
As you grow into what you will be.

Year One

You came from within, from just beneath my heart.
It's there you'll always be, though your own life will now start.

Year Two

You're growing so fast it sends me awhirl,
With misty eyes I ask, Where's my little girl?
Year Three
I know sometimes to you I seem harsh and so unfair,
But one day you will see, I taught you well because I care.
The next few years will so quickly fly,

Year Four
With laughter and joy, mixed with a few tears to cry.
As you begin your growth to womanhood, this fact you must know,

Year Five
You'll always be my source of pride, no matter where you go.
You must stand up tall and proud, within you feel no fear,

Year Six
For all you dreams and goals sit before you very near.
With God's love in your heart and the world by its tail,
You'll always be my winner, and victory will prevail.

Year Seven

For you this poem was written, with help from above,
To tell you in a rhythm of your Mother's heartfelt love!

We celebrated your Birthday Dinner with Aunt Laura this year. Grandma and Grandpa came over and we had ribs, potatoes, veggies and jello! Mommy made a Funfetti cake with sticky icing, as per Justin and Kalia's request. Justin wanted to taste his moms sticky icing again and Kalia wanted white cake. It was amazing! The whole cake was almost eaten in one sitting, which is unusual for our family.

Grandma is taking you shopping for your Birthday outfit this week, and Mommy and Daddy got your ears pierces for your Birthday- most on that next post. And we are so excited you choose to be baptized later this week!
