favorite pics

These are two of my favorite pictures right now. Barker, above, is showing me how old he is. The way he counts with his fingers is absolutely adorable. He starts with his pointer for 1. Then for 2 he uses his pointer and pinky. The picture is how he does 3, and 4 & 5 are the normal way.  Its the little things like that, that melt a mothers heart.

The girls are posing in Remy's new room. This shows off their little personalities and I just freaking LOVE it.

Carpet and Fireplace

The blinds in our Dinning Room.

Justin preping the Fireplace for tile. This is the last tile in the house, and Justin has been putting it off for weeks. He choose really really small tile- and its a beautiful stone grey... but it is going to be a PAIN.

CARPET!!

Basement TV area.

Justin LOVES the feel of Carpet. Especially new carpet.

In the toy room looking up the stairs.

And this is Barkers Room. Mom said I have yet to post his orange wall- so here goes! There is going to be a awesome map added to this wall- its gonna be great.

TA DA. The fireplace is tiled. Not yet grouted.. but that is soon coming too.

Now if just the outside front was finished we could be done... but soon enough!

Snapshots

Age Appropriate chores. Saying nothing of how that chair gets in the way...

Mommy- take a picture of me and Remy reading stories.

Sorting Grandmas vitamins into her pill box is a really big deal around here. Everyone helps and everyone drops and at least one cries.

In this day and age- pictures like these happen regularly. Doesn't mean they are of any less value- at least in moderation.

This morning

This morning.

  • Annaliesse wanted to wear her fanciest church dress to school. I said No. So she wore her Elsa costume instead.
  •  Barker was upset he could not find the rest of his Lego car in his bed. I was in the bathroom doing my hair, when he came in and asked if we could say a prayer so her could find his Lego car. We said the prayer together then went and found the rest of his car.
  • I saw where Remy was hiding her shoes. On Sunday we could NOT find her white sunday shoes and for this whole week she has been missing a runner. Turns out she had them stowed safely in the trunk of her car.
  • We ran over to the new house to check on a few things. The carpet layers were there and had the underlay on in Barkers room. Uncle Miles was hooking up the AC and the Plummer was late.

Quilt top for Annaliesse

Been sewing quite a bit lately.
Justin is working all the time, and Remy has been rather sick, sick enough to lose weight.
I can sew and hold her pretty well- so thats what we have been doing.

Annaliesse's quilt top is finished- I am not going back it until I get Barkers top finished. But I am in love with how well it turned out.  Excuse the horrid picture. I was on the phone.

FHE this week

Have you read the new Engsin article in April 2015- Four Tools that Bring Promised Blessings?
Good reminder.

Our FHE this week- I got a glorious idea from Pintrest and the kids loved it.

I printed out a picture of Jesus blessing a child. We read the story in 3 Nephi about it, and highlighted the verses about Jesus blessing the children. Then the kids colored their picture and we glued it into their scriptures so they can find the story themselves when they want to read their scriptures.

In the picutre above Remy is attacking Barker- for the 3rd time in 5 minutes.

As frustrating as I find FHE without Justin- as he is working on the house all the time- it is worth it.
The kids are getting better at listening and not just whining the whole time about special treat... please tell me its not just my kids.

Quick House Update

Quick House Update!

Here is the beautiful countertop we choose. White Quartz with a waterfall on the end.

Our snazzy new blinds came in- and we got the curtains for the front window.

The fireplace tile is coming soon.

The kitchen is pretty much finished... it just needs the appliances hooked up and cleaned.

I may or may not just stay in the kitchen at the new house.

See that backsplash? Its um... Gorgeous.

Justin is doing the tons of small things this week. Cold air return vents, baseboard chalking, touchups, laundry room ceiling, door knobs and a million others.

Kids bathrooms just need mirrors and a good cleaning.

Masterbath is just waiting for the glass shower and rods in the master closet.

Carpet is coming next Thursday and that finishes up the majority of the basement.

Sad occasion visits

Justin's cousin Janice Baff lost her fight with cancer last week, with her lovely mother Lucile passing a couple days later. Janice's funeral was in Cardston on Saturday afternoon. Justin and I blew down without the kids at noon. Literally blew down, passing turned over trailers and a small grass fire. Even though it was a sad occasion, it was nice to see lots of family and friends. Its always nice to chat with Sisters and Cousins, Uncle Howard was great for a laugh, and it was great visiting with Richard about children.

Windy

Spend a day in Beautiful Waterton during Spring break with the kids.
We met Jen and Nicole and the kids had a great time playing for a few hours.

Granted it was cold and windy- so we didn't last very long. But the kids had fun they LOVED the mountains, the wildlife and the lake. The drive down wasn't horribly bad either.

Being in Waterton made me miss living so close. However the wind reminded me a drive sometimes is better from HR is fine too.

Best picture we took all together.

Jen's pic is infinitely  better.
