Spacer

 Remy is one lucky kid.

 She has recently began her adventure to straight teeth! 

We have been working with a spacer these last weeks, it works by making space in her mouth for adult teeth. We turn it every night before bed and this Mom has a hard remembering how many turns we have done...... 

So we follow by taking a picture every time we turn!

Provincials

With Barkers team winning Silver and Remys team winning Bronze- both teams were invited to Provincials this year!

Provincals is in Edmonton at Saville Community Sports Centre. Have you been there?

It is insane- it features

Imagine all that- now picture a inadequate parking lot, in winter in freezing Edmonton. HAHA

What a weekend.

Friday started off great with both of them winning their first game. Barker played at 12:30pm which was kinda a bummer- having to drive through Calgary in rush hour. But the drive up was uneventful- Barker and Remy just chilling on the way. Barkers game was fun to watch- they boys took the first half before they were in their stride- but they got there. We headed of to Montanas for a late lunch with his team- where the boys were boys... A stop to check into the hotel- the boys wanted to swim for a bit- but the hotel pool was terrible so they lasted all of 5 minutes before they were over it.

At this point Remy was getting ready to play her game at 6:30 but she did NOT feel well. She was fevered and really tired. A big drink of water, some food and a Advil and she was ready to play. Got back to Saville centre and parking was a nightmare- after looking for a spot for 20 minutes I finally let Barker and Remy out- told them what court to head to and I kept looking! Finally finding a spot in the overflow a 10 minute walk away. It was nuts- I walked into her game as it was starting.  She played really well- like one of her best games of the season with lots of baskets and steals- they won handily but by the time it was over Remy just needed sleep. Back to the hotel where sleep was hard to come by with kids running the halls and Remy fevered and uncomfortable.

Saturday games started for us at 10am and so we were there ready to go by 9:20am. With time to watch Baylee Bennett play a bit before heading to Remy's first game. Remy's team had a rough Saturday- they played 3 games games- 10am, 3:30pm and 8:30pm. Not winning one- 2 of the games were close and the girls played hard (half the girls crying in the second game)- but the reality is- they are a young and small team. They have one taller girls, with lots of little point guards. By the late game they were all exhausted. It was the bronze metal game of provincials but they were slaughtered.  Remy was super super done by the end- she needed a couple days to recover. 

 

  Barker played 12:30pm and 5:00pm. The 12:30 game was soo stressful to watch. The game was super close they entire time. It was 46-44  as the third period was ending. They played hard with LOTS of fouls and a really fast pace game ending with a win 56-52. Barker played but not a ton. It was a huge team and he had a hard time getting to the basket.

The Gold Metal game at 5pm was against the same team we played Gold for in Cities. 

Airdrie. 

The game started off and you could just tell both teams were tired. The game was super low scoring with 19-14 for Airdrie at half time. 

This is when Barker came out of his shell and decided to just freaking rock it. Between the third and fourth period Okotoks found their second wind and by 2:45 left in the game they were up 52-31. Barker played the best he has played all season. He made 12 baskets not including foul shots and rocked the socks off the other team. It was crazy fun.

Bronze and Sliver

What a crazy, fun, exciting Saturday!

Barker and Remy had OMBA basketball finals Saturday. Remy's team competing in the Bronze game and Barkers team competing in the Gold Medal game. 

Kalia was our Chauffeur for the day- getting some city driving under her belt- and she did fantastic on the way in. With one tiny mistake, that was easily chatted about. Like how when we lane change, we don't want to hit the car behind us with back panel of the van, so we need to shoulder check and make sure we are PAST the car we are passing, before changing lanes.  

Remy was first in her game for 10:15am. Family support was Mom, Kalia, Annaliesse, Barker (and Oliver), Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma Moxley. Daddy was working on the house as per usual :)

The game was against a very large team in subs and size, they jumped into the lead pretty quick. Within no time we were 12 points down and half time was coming up real quick. Then our girls decided enough was enough, Coach Justin readjusted, changing up the lines and we came back to tie it up. Second half was super intense with us dropping behind and coming back every turn over.

Nearing the end- Remy had 2 sweet steals, 7 layups- 2 of which went in, and a sweet basket over the tall girl guarding her from 4 feet out. That shot tied it up. Annabell bumped us up by 2- then Paisley held off our 2 point lead with 4 baskets in a row. The girls won BRONZE by 2 points and they were soooo excited. 

U11 is so fun to watch- they are thrilled to win. The jumping and screaming was so darling- we were so happy for them. 

They had a good season- and lucky for them we have at least one tall girl on our "little" team.

 

We had a few hours between games- so we headed to South Centre Mall for lunch and shopping for the big girls (& Grandma who is looking amazing).

Annaliesse and the boys ran around the mall with a tiny basketball she bought- generally making a nuisance of themselves- none of which I saw until I saw Annaliesses' pictures on Insta. So if you were there Saturday around noon- sorry.

Kalia bought 3 hoodies- cause thats what she likes to spend her money on... she now has 41 hoodies in case you were wondering.

Off to Barkers game at 2;15 at Prolific. 

This game was another nail biter. We were up for most of the game, even with missing our best player. Barker had a few good plays and Oliver let him borrow his sweet headband. He made 5 of his 6 foul shots, plus a couple baskets, all in all he had a great time..... Until the very end. We lost by 3 in the last few minutes- it was really to bad for the boys. Barker had been very hyper all day, so excited leading up to the game- he took the loss hard. Tears showed up for a few of the boys, including Barker. 

It was a good game- someone has to loose-today it was us.

Wish us luck as both teams made the top 3 in the city.... 

We head to Provincials next weekend and the big girls head to ZONES!

 One of the best things about having Concert Loving Friends- they take you with them!!

Angie is the QUEEN at being on top of concerts- buying tickets, reminding me we are going and telling me to just come!! 😂😂😂

We have been to more concerts in the last 2 years then Justin has in his entire life- and it has been a blast.

NOW... do we listen to Mariana Trench on the regular- no. Did I think it was Mary Anna's Trench for about 3 months- yes. Did I know all of their songs- no. Did I know 50% of the songs- no. Did I know a total of 4 of the songs- yes. Did they gain a fan that night- 100% yes.                                                                                                                                                      Funny Tid bit about this Concert. After the first song, it looked like something stung or hit the lead singer in the face. He was fine for the first song and then all of a sudden he had a HUGE goose egg growing right before our very eyes. Apparently he hit himself with his guitar as he was changing guitars after the first song right in his right eyebrow. At one point in the first couple songs he was singing with blood in his eye! By the end of the concert- we were WAAAY close- like 3rd row- his eye looked so painful. He posted on insta that night and the next morning and it is quite a sight. Poor guy!

He also had his mic stand malfunction twice, his battery pack replaced a couple times, his mic finally restrung under his shirt- his guitar strings go stuck and he sang through it all. Guys we have never seen more things go wrong at a concert- but it was fantastic regardless. 

We ended the night with ice cream and drinks from 7-11 before heading home!

Angie and I also booked a AIRBNB for later in April with our kids- that we are super excited about and we caught up on all our crazyness. 

One more thing- friends who are ok with your live being insanely busy, are priceless. Sometime we go months without seeing or talking- beside the occasional text- but when we get a evening to hang- we pick up right where we left off. Thanks for being those friends Conways!
