Another Break in Slave Lake

We haven't been up to Slave Lake since August- it was about time we headed up for a visit!

It's much harder finding a week/weekend to go up! Swimming lessons, gymnastics, craft night, RS meetings AND Kindergarten/Preschool. We finally found a weekend that worked for everyone!!

Wednesday Morning the kids and I headed up! To be honest I find the drive SOOO relaxing, brother sleeps until about Red Deer, the girls watch a movie and color. Then we stop in Edmonton for a couple hours to eat and play- then we head to SL about 2:00- brother goes back to sleep and so do the girls!! Granted this time my Audiobook ran out at Red Deer… so that was a bummer. But other then that it fantastic!

Thursday we spent the day hanging out in Daddies Room. Lego, Coloring, cars and movies… Mommy reading or just playing with the kidos. Its almost like a vacation…. granted a vacation in a really really tiny room.

The plan was to head into Edmonton for the night Friday at noon- but unfortunately Justin fell on the ice Thursday afternoon and hurt his neck… then he woke up Friday in extreme pain. So we waited around trying to find a chiropractor that could see him--- but nothing. So he took some muscle relaxant and aspirin and we headed into Edmonton early!

Daddy forgot his swimsuit so Thrift Village it is! We headed out for dinner at Red Robin--- another meal with 3 kids…. We were eating next to a couple with a baby, and we laughed silently at how frustrated they seemed to get with their ONE BABY! It made our meal!

We headed back to the hotel to go swimming - had the hotel pool all to ourselves!

Saturday Morning we headed over to West Edmonton Wave Pool for 10:00am! We spent 5 glorious hours swimming! Unfortunately no photos… cause my phone died and I forgot our camera card at home in the computer. Dang it!!

A Monday. 22 on the 22nd.

Its been months since I have done this!
I had great intentions~ it just kept getting forgotten.

I finally remembered after looking at our 2010 blog book with the girls, we had a entry in there with a picture every hour. The girls are soooo little and sweet. I want to be able to see it now too.

So here's a normal Monday for us!

These 2 are always the first ones up!

Mommy helps the kids get dressed, A is in charged of getting her socks out… inventive eh?

Hair time- K thought she was the luckiest duck to take photos in the mirror.

Of course A needed a turn… Mommy had to duck to get in the picture.

Grandma helps a lot on school mornings! Brother eats the best for her so she usually feeds him, while I do the girls breakfast, lunches and pack backpacks.

The kids eating and Mommy packing.

K doing her reading for Kindergarten. She is doing so well- I need to build her a word sight wall!
A is also reading the books K brings home~ I am hoping its going to give her some sort of advantage.

Dropping K and A off at school. The girls always hug before they part ways, they say "I love you, be a good listener" or something sweet like that.

Brother and Mommy head home for naps and dishes.

Tis the Apple season!

Brother had to be woken up to go get A from Preschool.

Picking up a few groceries on our way home from school!

Lunch!

Getting supper ready, while the kids eat lunch!

After naps A and Brother play pretty fantastic together….. usually.
Here Brother is copying A's pencil jump.

Helping sissy out of his cars bin.

More driving…. off to pick up K from school!

A craft after school with Uncle Mark for a bit

Crafting can go on forever, even after they are done~ crayons always come out and it ends up going on and on and on…

K loves getting books from the school Library.. it just means a lot of mommy reading.

Dinner with everyone… rather late- I got busy reading to K, and forgot to get the corn bread started.

To finish off the night, Grandma and Grandpa try to put back together the 7 nativity puzzles that got spilt. The girls have a quick snack before bed.

What it's like to be a parent: It's one of the hardest things

you'll ever do but in exchange it teaches you the meaning of

unconditional love.

Transformers

The girls have been asking and asking if they can go to the movies with Daddy!
So Saturday we took the girls to Hotel Translvatia. We debated for a while about this movie… A gets sooo scared over the sillyest things. But after reading reviews and talking to friends who took their kids we thought it would be ok. Oh and the Best thing- the girls kept calling it Transformers…  then it took like 100 times of practicing, and A still calls it Hotel Tra-sta-vain-eee-yaa.

The girls loved it. Mom and Dad thought it was hilarious too- A took turns sitting on our laps, dancing with the music and laughing her funny little laugh! She did get a little scared, but no more then she does in The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty. K loved it too! Grandma and Grandpa were nice enough to play with Brother at the mall so we both could take them.

After the movie and a few errands, then headed home to carve pumpkins and….er…. play in the fresh snow! I was trying to make dinner and kids kept getting right under foot!! Then K saw the next door kids playing in the backyard and WALA! Out of Mommies hair, and onto building snowmen with Daddy!

Brother didn't last to long… Mommy needs to get him some boots and gloves!

I forgot how much kids love the snow! They keep checking on the snowman out the window. K will yell "Don't worry A, he looks ok!"

On to the pumpkins!!

It was so cute, brother didn't really like getting his hands dirty at first! He finally got into it, sorta.

Daddy and the girls take care of gutting and cutting.. Mommy is on seed duty.

Brother didn't last till the end. He got put to bed- we was so tired after not napping at all!

Great day
