Treat or Treat

No school on Halloween Day. Perfect time to hit up the Science Center!
No school groups, just little kiddos in costume!

We always head into Creative Creatres- there is always a craft going on at 10:30 or so every morning.
This time it was weaving. Kalia lasted the longest... the other 2 just kind of watched.

This little Lady Bug just wondered around playing with whatever she could reach.

Then Halloween NIGHT! Our little Trick or Treaters.

Lady Bug

Angel

Snow White

And A Fireman!

Group Shot!
Remy was just mad we made her sit down.
I know, I know, how rude!

Cathy Andersons house first!
She used to live close to us, and we would play often at the park with her and
her nefew Cole. She moved to the other side of town and we sure miss her!

Then over to Aunt Laura's and Uncle Miles to say Hi and show them our costumes!!

It was SOOO nice and warm.
Our street looked like a Movie Scene.
Kids everywhere, all over the road. Moms and Dads pushing strollers, walking dogs, and pleasantly chatting about this and that.
Justin and I took the kids around the block and then I headed home to hand out our treats.
The younger three lasted about a hour and a half. Justin brought them all home and Kalia and I headed back out. We spent another 45 minutes trick or treating and then heading home to see friends for a few minutes before bed.
What a GREAT evening.

And because I LOVED looking at the last collage from last post, heres another.
It so fun watching them get bigger each year!

This years PUMPKIN carvings WIN

We were a little over zealous this year. 5 pumpkins seemed like no big deal. (the 5th pumpkin is no where to be seen in the photos, it got pretty late so Justin had to finish carving it AFTER the kids were in bed)

Cleaning out the pumpkins. Each kid got to clean out their own pumpkin.

Remy would have nothing to do it with it. Justin put her hand in, and after that she wouldn't try it again.

Thats ok, she just held it and watched. Then got down and just waddled around.

Then the craving started- well one of us craved...

Daddy did the carving, Mommy did the poking of the pattern and the kids watched Caillou.

The carving went great. Remy's spider looks fantastic. Barkers choose the cyclops-but was upset later it did not have a nose, so he solved that by using a piece of masking tape. Then when I made him take it off he was NOT impressed with me. Annaliesse wanted the "Jack" one, I was so happy she did, I liked it too! Kalia wanted the Cheshire Cat, we were worried about the teeth but they were fine.

I think 2014 carvings are our best so far! Justin did a great job this year.

I couldn't resist looking back at a few past pumpkin carving sessions.

Another Regular Saturday

I saw this quote a couple months ago.
And it has changed the way I think about our weekends.
When we first started building the new house, the weekends seemed problematic.
Justin being BUSY most Saturdays made me want to pull out my hair.
NOW I think of how few Saturdays I have left with ALL four of my lovelys... I am so thankful for them and I intend to USE them WISELY.

No more is it just a boring Saturday- even the ones that SEEM boring, we try and do something to make the kids laugh, do or remember.

This Saturday I took the big girls into see their cousins in Cinderella! Mateya and Jaidyn did so great. Jaidyn was Anastasia and Mateya a Narrater. The play was so adorable, Kalia and Annaliesse both loved it.

Justin and Grandpa finished the siding on the roof line of the new house.

Then Grandpa came home to do a few things on the roof here, and Barker so badly wanted to stand on the roof for 2 mintues. So Grandma helped him out.

Barker played with Bean Bags and sandwich containers to pass some time.

Then the kids and I did a quick craft with ALL the fun supplies. Paint, Popsicle sticks, Hot Glue, scissors and Construction Paper. Really what more could a kid want?!?! Daddy was even home quite early Saturday, it was nice to see him around!

Kalia is 7 years 1 month. She has 10 years and 11 months until she is 18.
Or
568 Saturdays left with all four of my babies.
TIME FLYS
USE IT WISELY

Ghouls Night Out.

Took the kids out to Heritage Park to the Ghouls Night Out on Friday!!
We arrived right at 6 in our costumes,  the evening went from 6-9.
And Guess WHAT?
We got the LAST 5 tickets. In FACT we actually went with Grandma Moxley, but when we went up to get tickets at the counter, the lady says "Only 5 tickets left." I tried to convince her to let us get one more in, (grandma made 6) but she would have none of it. :(
So we said goodbye to Grandma and thanked our lucky stars we got in!
I would have hated to have to tell the kids we couldn't go.

Here we are ready to get our Spook ON!

First stop, the Flying Academy. The kids learned how to fly with some witches!

Note how Barker is holding his broomstick! I guess his witching skills need work. (could have fooled me)

There were so many awesome Halloween displays and characters around!

We made a stop at the crafting Station.

Then over to the  Halloween Carnival where the kids did stick the nose on the Pumpkin, Bean Bag Monster Toss, Knock the Skulls down and a Fortune telling Witch.

Then over to a Magic Show. Remy really liked this part, she was able to walk around for a while and be out of the stroller and cold!

Where ANNALIESSE was asked to come on stage and be the helper!! The Zombie (not sure what he was) kept pulling quarters out of her ears and arm pits and nose and behind her back and everywhere!

She was a adoarble Snow White Helper.

Daddy took a selfie during the show.

Off to see Alice in Wonderland where the King and Queen of Hearts were!

The Happy UnBirthday Party with the Mad Hatter and Alice!! Where the mad hatter pretended to toss tea in everyones cup. Then he stopped and apologized to a little guy saying he splashed some tea on his costume. The girls thought that was absolutely hilarious and talked about it the next couple days.

Old Fashion Suckers next.

The medieval Exhibit was amazing. The costumes, the weapons, the costumes, the chain mail, the singers and the costumes!

We ended the evening at 9:00 at the witches retirement home. Where Barker thought the freaky Black Cat on the witches lap with glowing red eyes was the BOMB. The kids had a great time, and managed to stay awake ALL the way home. Lets just say 10 bedtime is WAY to late for our kiddos.
But WHAT FUN WE HAD!!
