Last day of school

If you follow me on any social media, or talk to me face to face or listen to our family prayers you would know we have been waiting for this day for weeks!!

School seemed to last forever this year!! FOREVER!!

It finally ended today. I was way more excited for summer to start then the kids were!

Kalia left her 2/3 class after being with her teacher Mrs King for 2 years. I can not say enough nice things about Cathy, she is a amazing teacher. Full of love and devotion to her students, we are so thankful for her. Kalia is moving on to grade 4, no news yet on her teacher but Kalia is easy to get along with and she aims to please.

Annaliesse is with Ms Mase again for one more year, she is also in a 2/3 split. Ma Mase has been such a great cheerleader for Annaliesse. Encouraging her and slowing her down when needs be :) The best thing, when Annaliesse got home from school she says in a releaved tone "Mom here is my report card and I passed Grade Two" like it was quite the going concern.

While the girls were at school finishing off the year the two little and I were playing at home and taking it easy at the skateboard park. Barker was in such a hurry to go, I tossed my hair up, changed my clothes and we headed out. As we are pulling out of the driveway he looks at my hair and goes "Mom I hate those hair balls on your head. I only like your hair down and smooth. Those are like baseballs on your head. I have a baseball but not made of hair." He was rather disgusted by my choose of hair style.

We had a great trip at the skatepark met some friends and then we headed home for Remy to have a quick nap before going to the lake to celebrate school being OVER!! Barker worked on his letters for a bit while she napped.

So as soon the girls walked in the door we fed them quick and rushed out door- all while Mommy sang "Schools out for Summer!!" We went over to Aunt Sherlyins Lake for a few hours! Cousins is the kids favourite thing to play with!

We got there and Remy would NOT touch the sand. So she stood by me and played with Bubbles for about 45 minutes till Aunt Karla came to the rescue and set her up like a princess on a flutter board so the sand wouldn't touch her. That was all it took. It only took her a few minutes to get off and play in the sand.

Justin came by after work and tried to blow up Brock. It was a fun afternoon and a great way to start summer.

Goodbye School.
See ya next year!
Hello Summer!!!!!!!

Letterland Concert.

Barkers Preschool ended last week but their year end concert happened Tuesday night.

School was ending the next day so the staff decided not to put up chairs and have the families sit on the gym floor on blankets like a picnic. Cute idea. Sore bottoms. Plus it proved to be a great wresting mat for those children not participating in the concert.

Mrs Herr's Preschool Class sang the entire alphabet Letterland album. It was darling. And long. And loud. And soft. And darling.

Lots of kids were missing so some of the Letters  just had one kid singing, like Barker had "A". To start with the mic wasn't working and after it was turned on he was still really quiet but you could hear him if you concentrated hard. But if you ask me he was FANTASTIC. DARLING. HANDSOME.

The song, if you know it sing along in your head, "Annie Apple she says "ah" She says "ah" She says "ah" Annie Apple she says "ah" She belongs to Mr A."

Barker sings "She belongs to Mr E".... Good thing we still have all summer time and Kindergarden to get that alphabet nailed down :)

Thank you Mrs Herr for being a amazing teacher. Barker got to take home a shirt with all his class mates names on it and a little message from his teachers. Mrs Herr's message says "I loved having you in my class. That smile of yours Is gonna get you in trouble." So true. So true. His smile is just the greatest.

FHE firepit

Tonight we met with a couple families in our ward for a FHE firepit! We have been doing this a ton lately with Justin's family in Calgary and the kids so look forward to it everytime. A chance to eat hot dogs and marshmallows, play in the dirt, run around and just be kids with friends. We did this in February with some families here in High River and we thought it would be a great fun way to kick off to summer!!

9 families, 18 adults and 24 kids. Lots of hot dogs, cookies, watermelon, rice crispy squares, chips and juice. So nice to let the kids play and have adult chat.

Thanks friends!

Barker and Justin snuck out to Barkers final soccer get together at McDonalds- the coach had a treat bag for then kids. Dad got him a ice cream cone and he ate what he wanted then passed it on to Remy when he was done.

We got home about 8:15, bathed the little and got the littles in bed. Justin headed downstairs to tuck the big girls in and he found them kneeling down together for prayers. I guess we are doing something right. :)

Soccer to a close

Soccer finished on Saturday!

Unfortunately the girls games were both at 9:00 am and canceled because of the rain. Kalia's coach is Gordon Lee, a member in our ward, and the new branch president, he sent everyone a text inviting Kalia's team to his house for a pancake breakfast in stead. The kids all had a good time and the 6 adults that came just visited while the kids played.. a easy hour with pancakes instead of sitting in the rain, it was nice.

Annaliesses coach is hoping to reschedule the game for Wednesday evening, so we will see. I have been so impressed with all of my kids coaches. They all have been absolutely great with the kids, and teaching them all about soccer. Taking the time to coach, learn their names, keep the parents updated with emails, keep the kids excited, teach them the basics, help with owies, tie shoes, offer encouraging words, and being a adult the kids felt comfortable with learning a new sport.

Barker had his last game at 10:15 with no rain luckily. He loved playing this season, although the last five games he was not as enthusiastic.  We attribute that to him hearing "Barker pass the ball! Barker use your teammates!! Barker pass the ball!" He was a bit of a ball hog and after a while he stop playing as hard so he wasn't called on. He will learn and he did have a lot of fun. He has a little closing party at Mcdonalds tonight, Daddy is taking him :)

Barker got a Tim Bits Metal at the end of the season and it has gone everywhere with him. He took it to church to show his Primary Teacher and friends, to Grandma and Grandpas last night, its currently in his pocket. I love this age.

Thanks for the great season High River Soccer Association.

Farmers Artists

Want to know what happens once all the extra curricular activitys are over? We have a free evening!! The other day I took the girls and Aunt Laura to the High Rivers Farmers market to look around while Justin and Barker played at the skate park.

Afterwards we had a evening of drawing with hot dogs and fries for dinner. Seems simple eh? It was and so nice to just be together and not rushing off :)

The kids take after the Moxley side, they are going to be great artists.

Soon to be Kindergartener

This kid has his last day at Preschool today. Last Day.

It seems like just last year I took Kalia over to her first day of preschool and look at our family now!

Barker can write his name and count to 15. He knows his colors and shapes, he loves to draw and color. He LOVES YouTube, mostly scooter videos and hot wheels demos. He plays outside most of the day and still loves his scooter. He favorite place to go is the skate park or spray park. He always is ready for the next adventure, food is a constant with him although picky doesn't even begin to discribe his eating habits.
He always has a smile on his face and he will talk to people and interact with them now. He loves his baby sister with all his little heart.

Watch out Kindergarden! He is going to knock your socks off.

Chill

We are full out in chill mode this week. I have taken three pictures. We ate at McDonalds Monday so I didn't have to make dinner. The house is clean but by no means up to standards and the two littles and I are either hanging on the couch while Mom naps or playing at the park with friends. No in between this week. When summer ever get here ?!?!
(We still have a week of school left)

Snapshots

He spent a week being sick. It wasn't easy considering I felt crappy the entire week too.

Annaliesse loves iPads. She is getting better at not watching it as often, outside and friends help with that a lot. But I will often have her help me, and she willingly helps, she just works and watches... Unloading the dishwasher, turning the lights off, cleaning Remys room, or moving the backpacks to the front door so we don't forget them. Work while you watch.

Kalia got another ganglion cyst drained. This one was rather small but it bothered her so they drained it.

I hardly ever make pancakes. I do not like them at all. But they are easy and quick and with Justin and I being so sick last week we opted for easy quick meals.

Barkers owie is getting better. Looks nasty and oozing a bit. But healing.

Kindergarden Orientation

Barker and I went to his Kindergarden Orientation last week. Spitzee now does the government Kindergarden orientation program so it was different then when the girls did it. I was a bit worried at first, I didn't think Barker would want to participate. He tends to hold back when I am around and does better in a smaller setting.

He did great. Participated in almost all of the centres, wrote his name, coloured a picture, listened to a story, cut out a sun and few other things. The only one he wouldn't do was a physical one with lots of kids doing it all at the same time.

At the end they still did a bus ride. Barker was thrilled and wanted to sit right in the front. He grinned the whole time and asked lots of questions. I can't believe he is going into Kindergarden. I made the mistake of looking at pictures from June 2012, it seems like it was just yesterday- he was crawling and eating wood, hating everyone and sleeping most nights in my bed.

Good luck buddy boy. Your gonna rock Kindergarden :)

High River Split

Big Changes happened in our ward on Sunday. High River ward has been the biggest in the stake for quite a long time, and our bishop had been in for 5 years and 8 months. The same bishop who managed the ward durning the flood- which if you ask me should count at 3 extra years.

Then on Sunday the ward got split into ward and a branch. Bishop Hirsche was released and DAD was called as the new bishop, and Gordon Lee as the new Branch President! It was a huge sacrament meeting and lots of changes.

Dad is going to be a great bishop. He is amazing Grandpa and a great Dad, the ward is blessed to have him... I am just not sure we really want to share.... ;)

Survival Mode

The end of last week Mommy buckled down into survival mode. Justin came home from work Tuesday with a upper respiratory infection and was down and out until Saturday. A few things did happen- one of our all time favourite Elders got transferred. Lethbridge North area is gaining a amazing young man. Good luck Elder Eilliot!

Justin hung out in bed while I manned the Fort. Poor Guy- he is never sick- but when he is sick, he gets hit hard.

He did manage to make it to the kids soccer games. But he was not his usual self. He sat in a lawn chair and did not move. The kids played great. Kalia's team tied and Kalia got a score! Annaliesse's team won and so did Barkers. Saturday afternoon Justin and Remy went home to nap, the girls off to Birthday Parties, Barker hung with Grandpa for the afternoon and Mom and I went to Costco- then I stopped by at the church to see my craft group having a weekend craft along! Busy busy. It Saturday night now and my head is killing me, my nose feels like a clown nose and breathing hurts. I hope it's just allergies and Justin didn't share his sickness with me :( He is off to Vancover Monday so I can't be sick!!   Added Monday: He is still at home sick- has not been into work for a week :( I am so ready for this to be over.
