Birthday Dinner with Chipmans!

Usually- 95% of the time we have Sacrament at Grandma and Grandpas house durning the COVID disaster. Right after sacrament we have Come Follow Me- which Justin and I take turns leading. This week we had lots of adults to team up with kids, and lots of discussion. Thank you family for showing our kids how important the Book of Mormon is to each and every one of you.

For Barkers Birthday Sunday dinner he asked Grandma for Ribs, Grandpa and Grandma were happy to oblige. There were lots of us so we ate outside, just before a storm blew in with sun shinning in on side of the tables eyes. Barker took matters into his hands and found some sunglasses to wear while he ate.

Annaliesse made his Skor Gluten Free cake. With all the pudding, skor and whipping cream you can't even tell your eating Gluten Free!!

We were all pretty tired when we got home Sunday afternoon- Mom and Dad had a nap. The kids couldn't handle the naps very long and soon we had kids all over us. I love these days- they are passing WAY too quickly.

Birthday Baseball with Moxley's

Happy Birthday Barker!
You have been so excited for this weekend of fun! First up you got your birthday present first thing Friday- a Mini BMX bike that Daddy found for you. You ASKED for every game system in the universe but we don't have those in the house. We believe in outside play, family play and self play with a bit of screen time.

The Fire Department has been doing drive by's for kids Birthdays for the last few months. Barker is super lucky to get it on his Birthday- they are discontinuing the practice June 15th. He thought it would be cooler I think- but the pictures are cute and their horn was loud. LOL

Then the Moxleys came out to play Baseball and have a BBQ after. We all had a great time. Saturday was su fun, Thanks everyone for coming!

Snapshots

Barker is helping Remy with a Math question in this photo. I am putting laundry away in her room, they followed me as I got things done this moring.

Barker has so many assignments for school on Flipgrid. Each one needs a selfie to go on the front cover, so I have a ton of pics with just Barker these days :)

Barker reading his Birthday Card from Aunt Sherilyn. He felt pretty special.

We have been making Pina Coladas... especially with grenadine on it. Remy says Grenadade. Its darling.

Spending most our time OUTSIDE

I am sure you can all imagine how much the kids are enjoying the pool.
Almost every afternoon, weather permitting, the kids are in the pool. The amount of towels we go through in an week is staggering. Especially when Mommy isn't watching how many they are using.
School seems like a low priority for these 4- but Mommy is hard on them. No school work, no pool.

We also have pretty strict pool rules, thankfully NO ONE is annoyed or upset about them and they are obeyed without question. No one is in the pool without an adult watching. NO ONE. They are allowed to fill their squirt guns without an adult, so that seems to be a fair compromise. Remy has fallen off her float a couple times, and she panics- and has scared the kids. They all dive for her and look at Mom with an ashamed look- is it bad I don't feel bad that they think I might lose it if she gets hurt?

Mommy even got in the pool this week- with temp reaching mid 20's I thought I could float for a bit. BUT FLIP that water is freaking cold. I don't know how they are enjoying it so much. We all got sunburnt this afternoon- Justin was NOT impressed with me. Whoops.

Remy gets done pretty quick- today she was "so sleepy" she kept getting mad that the sun was so bright she couldn't nap. Mommy suggested going inside to a bed and I would lay beside her- she was up and playing right after I asked. Hahaha.

We met everyone for Ice cream twice in a week at Dairy Queen! Just missing Uncle Miles. Nothing like an impromptu 30 minute ice cream and chat! Barkers favourite treat right now is a Chocolate Milkshake and Annaliesse is digging the Rootber float! Mommy got an Orange Julius the first time and Remy LOVED it. She got one of those the second time. Kalia just ate as much ice cream as she could get her hands on. Eating Remy and Barkers every chance she got.

These are pretty fun peeps.

Sheep River Falls

Making memories as fast as possible over here.
Yes, we are loving being at home together,  playing in the pool, trampoline and screen room for entire weeks. But we would be silly not to take advantage of Recess with friends in our semiclose Provincial Parks.
It wasn't super warm today, in fact it rained on and off for most of the day. From 1:30-3pm there was hardly any rain and we were grateful.

We hiked all over Sheep River Falls with the Bennetts and enjoyed every minute of it.

The views, to which Lauren and I would continually say "Guys, it's just so beautiful" to which kids would groan or laugh depending on the kid.

The rock throwing in the river, one child got hit in the face with a pebble due to some questionable skills, and Lauren almost being smacked with one as same child tried to throw another rock in the river.

The boys who scampered from one rock to another without any thought of wet shoes or twisted ankles.

The oldest kid who just wanted to go a little bit further, then a little more, and a little more after that. Until we over rode her and headed back.

The child who STILL won't pee in an outhouse, regardless of ALL the coaching we have done.

The little drive to the end of the road while the rain started.

Home Schooling w/ a Pool

Some Mondays are Mondayer than others. None of the kids wanted to do "school" this morning, and Momma couldn't blame them, as I didn't want to either. Barker solved his problem by choosing the messiest project first thing Monday and I let him go with it. Remy solved it by finishing her Math in record time so she could play Prodigy. Annaliesse's teacher gone one assignment put online and she got it done fast so she could make smoothies. Smoothies that no one liked PS. Kalia had school- regular in Jr High School.

Whelp the Pool has been up for over a week and cold weather moved in right after it was up. The kids have been dying to use it- another reason everyone got their work done super fast. Right after lunch everyone bolted outside to the pool. Wanna take a wild guess how long they lasted?! 15 minutes. It was not really that warm, it was also windy and only 19 degrees. Yes the kids got into the pool to finally use it- but it was definitely short lived. We all can't wait until they can while away their summer afternoons on a floatie in the pool. Mommy can't wait either.

Blog to Book had a sale this weekend- so I rushed to finish the back blogging from 2019. I have been a terrible family history writer these last 10 months. Annaliesse trying to help me get 2019 done so they can come in the mail and she can read them. She even took a photo for me of the Blog Books downstairs so I could choose a good cover for it.

I blogged in the screen room while the kids warmed up from out of the pool. They read or played search and find. We came in the house for a quick clean up from school, lunch, pool time, and snacks- man it can get messy with 4 kids home 24/7.

Our neighbour Rob told Justin a few months ago he was getting his tree chopped down in the front yard. We came inside and they happened to pull up right as we go ready to start the tidy- obviously we stopped and watched them chop down the tree for 30 minutes. It was super loud going through the chipper- but so cool watching them take a tree down, chop it up, clean up and move out in record time.

For dinner we had Remy's favourite dinner Burrito bowls. It took forever to cook but at least the kids love it.

Karla sent me this adorable photo of her girls with Uncle Justin.  How cute are they all!!

Sundays

Sundays at home are swiftly becoming a favourite around here. Its such a beautiful day today we did Sacrament early and Come Follow Me right after so we could enjoy the day outside. Mark and Lindsay and Grandma and Grandpa came over for a quick lunch outside. The weather was gorgeous and we had a lovely 2 hours visiting.

Mark and Lindsay left to put their babies down for naps and Mom is still not feeling well so everyone was out by 2:15. Darcy texted and told us to meet them at Big Rock for a few hours- well why not. We headed over for 3:00 and spent a lovely afternoon with the Bennetts and the Kennett's.

After being at the rock for a while we headed over to Bennetts for a longer visit and a few games.

We are thankful for Family and Friends.
