Happy 2nd Birthday Barker!!
Wanna know what I love about Pictures?
Each one of these pictures speaks volumes to me.
I can tell you exactly whats going on and how he was feeling in each pic.
This little man is already 2, its completely shocking!
He weighs in at 24.4 lb. and wears 18 month pants and 24 month shirts.
Size 5 shoes and 32 inches tall.
He is NOW sleeping through the NIGHT- it only took him 22 months to master that!
He is finally starting to speak- he says a handful of words- Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Kalia (this is more so a specific scream), Duty, Up, Backpack, Ball and Balloon.
He only speaks when he feels like it, which isn't very often.
He still eats wood and drywall but we just got him tested for low iron and lead, so we will see how that goes.
He eats like a horse now, and soooo slow. It takes about 40 minutes for him to eat breakfast, and at dinner he is the first one served and the LAST one at the table.
He uses his fork and spoon very meticulously, never using his fingers. He wont except help to finish, so the last 3 bites turn into 27 bites.
He likes cars and Dinosaurs but lately he is also into a dolly and legos.
When he nods, he leads with his eyebrows…. he gets his eyebrows going up and down and then his head follows. It is such a fantastic movement.
He is soooo stubborn, when I ask him to pick up he just tosses a fit, and sits down to cry..
its gonna be interesting getting him to learn to pick up his toys, or put his shoes away, or anything for that matter.
June -13 months
Above picture is at his first Birthday Party, it is before it has started and we are trying to get a good photo of him. He is walking around trying to get away from the camera at this point, and no longer wants my camera in his face.
July- 14 months
This is July first- we had just finished the parade and doing all of our family obligations. The girls are passed out in the back seat of the van, and we are sure Barker was going to fall asleep next, but he was over tired and mad. He wanted out of his carseat, so Daddy got him to start giggling and thats why there is a tear on his cheek and he is laughing.
August- 15 months
Playing outside all afternoon, I am trying to make supper and he is starving and teething. He usually didn't like Puffs but he was so hungry and grumpy he just sat on the chair eating puffs, with a grumpy face on!
September- 16 months
Family picutres being taken. Barker was grumpy the whole time- we managed to get a total of like 10 photos with him smiling AND looking at the camera. Other then that he just cried and was mad we tried to hold him. This photo is at the very end, and he is running away from the photographer.
October- 17 months
The girls are making Halloween masks, and he had been participating until he started eating the liquid glue and eating the glitter. I was trying to spend some quality time with the girls too, because they were getting upset with every little thing he did. So I got the step stool out of the pantry and let him play with it, he was happy climbing up and down for almost a hour.
November- 18 months
Picking up craft supplies for Grandma's Christmas Gift. It was our 3rd trip to Canadian Tire, with very unhelpful employees. I was looking at racks and racks and racks of little screws and bolts- he was SOOO done. Mad and screaming and cold- so I pushed the cart right up to the aisle and let him touch everything he could reach. It worked- I found the screws and only left a minor disaster for the helpful employees.
December- 19 months
Skating with the family. We strapped those little boot skates on him and pushed him around. Of course with 3 kids, they had to take turns being pushed and helped by mom and dad. So whenever he had to wait he would sit on the ice and just whine and whine and whine. We took the kids skating and it lasted for about 40 minutes- we deemed it a success.
January- 20 months
Morning sickness hit Mommy this month. Barker was still drinking 3 plus bottles a night, waking up soaked everyday. I had striped him down, changed his bum, barfed then crawled back in bed. He payed the majority of the morning in his diaper while Mommy laid in bed. He eventually got annoyed with me and gave me his stink eye to get me out of bed to play with him! (this is one of Justin's Favorite Photos of him)
February- 21 months
Spent the Day at the Telus Science "Spark" Center. All three kids fell asleep on the way home, and by the time we got home Mommy felt dead on her feet. So I fed the kids cereal and promised if they were happy and did not fight after this long day, we would make popcorn and watch Peter Pan. Usually I just cheat and make microwave popcorn, but this time we got out the popper. Barker had never seen it before and was over joyed!
March- 22 months
Another month of Mommy being sick, Barker and Mommy spent a lot of time reading stories and watching cartoons. He would bring me book after book and sit on my lap. He loves the Question and Answers Encyclopedia of Animals.
April- 23 months
A Simple Saturday at home. The girls playing Barbies right beside him, Daddy trying to get Barker to say Backpack. Spent the day lazing on the couch, kids in jammies and toys all over the place!
May- 24 months
Sunday before Mothers Day- I am on my way out the door for Choir Practice, Justin is giving the kids Munchie Mix for a snack! Laura is screaming for a picture with Mom and I, so we are heading to the back porch for a quick snap shot- Barker is laughing and being silly- he poses for the camera as I walk by!
Photos are the BOMB!! We are so Blessed to live in this Day and age where I can take HUNDREDS of Photos each Month!
But even more Blessed to have our little 2 year old Barker!!
LOVE YOU SON!
