Lacrosse Wrap Up

Justin's team manager Adriane tossed a wonderful end of year party with the Tykes and Novices this week. Justin has truly loved coaching Lacrosse this season, he grew to really like the boys and parents and always had a smile on his face when his boys were talked about.

The team presented Justin with a coach shirt and another hat- which was nice cause he sweat through the last 2. He was also presented with Lacrosse ball that all the boys signed. 

Adriane also got each boys a yellow lacrosse ball to remember their tyke session- they all wrote their name and number on it.

The final event for the tykes- they played durning half time of the Junior Mountaineers final game. Both the novice and tykes were invited to play a mini game during the 2nd period break. Justin took the kids as I had another event previously booked- and they had a blast. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa who took the kids into the city to meet Justin at the game- and stay to help and watch.

Annaliesse was able to play novice goalie as they were a bit short of players. They got to high five all the players, suit up and play in front of the crowd.

It was a fun evening!

Grade 5 🎓 & Kindergarten 🎓

Annaliesse Graduated from Elementary School this year!

Moving on to Middle School- she loved Grade 5.

Her teacher was Mrs Bulmer- and according to Annaliesse she could do no wrong.

Her favourite part- her teacher let them wear hats to school and in the classroom.

Annaliesse LOVES her hats, and spent most of this year rocking her blue and black raiders hat or a toque in the winter. Mrs Bulmer was great at making everything fun; assignments, new lessons and complicated problems. Annaliesse also graduated D.A.R.E and got her Patrols Certificate. 

Grade 5 Graduation is a all day event at Spritzee. A assembly in the morning, where we got to see a slideshow of pictures, a Grade 5 drama production, Annaliesse was a stage hand, a dance number and a song the Grade 5 sang that is a Camp Granada parody titled Grade 5 Graduation and handing out their certificates.

A few hours later Remy Graduated from KINDERGARTEN!

Can you believe it? On to Grade 1 for our youngest!

Honestly I really can't talk about it yet, it makes me cry- its to hard to discuss right now- give me until November.

Kindergarten graduation was absolutely adorable- ADORABLE.

Each participant was presented with a Certificate and their Kindergarten work books. 

The Graduation caps were a cute touch. 

Remy has worked so hard this year and has done so well.

She is reading already and knows all her letters and sounds.

Math is something she likes to do and she has grown leaps in her speech.

Remy totally lucked out and gets Mrs Traber (her Kindergarten teacher) again in Grade 1! Mrs Traber is moving grades and we are lucky to get her twice!

  Grade 5 Field Trip

Annaliesse BEGGED me to come and chaperone for this- I almost got out of it, until an email came out saying they only had 2 going and they needed at least 5.

So Remy and I went to help.

Annaliesse was thrilled, Remy was thrilled and Mommy lived.

Cobbs Adventure Park is quite the place. 

They had a blast. I followed them around.

Highlight the Kangaroos obviously. 

After our field trip adventure we had one last league Lacrosse game.

They won their final game 5-2

High River Tyke team ended in 6th /17 in the league. Way up from last years 17th place/17.

Barker had a great session scoring a total of 36 points in league games.

Plus another 11 from the Tyke Barn Burner Tournament. 

He has definitely grown this year, in shooting, running, duking and dodging. 

Barker moves on to Novice next year- he is pretty excited, it was a great end to his Tyke Career.

Soccer ⌑ Lacrosse ⌑ Floor Hockey ⌑ Soccer

Having a hard time getting back into blogging. So I spent an hour looking back on our life in 2016 and I loved it. Sooooo back to the grind. 

Our last Saturday of back to back packed sporting events.

Remy was on FIRE- as soon as she realized this was her last week in soccer, she got that competitive look in her eyes. She played her heart out for a hour.

Grandma and Grandpa came to watch, we actually had our last session in George Lane park- so it was quite packed into the few spots that are open enough for a soccer game. We were able to visit with our U5 friends and U7 friends. 

Right after soccer, we rushed into Calgary for a Lacrosse game. 

Barker had a large audience for this game, Uncle Cryil and Aunt Karla, Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma Moxley, Mateya and Holton, plus us. 

Our last games in June were a bit tougher for our little team, but they managed to pull it together for a win on Saturday. Barker really wanted to try and score with a behind the back shot- he has been practicing it this whole session. He finally got the flip down, and was keen to try it in a game. He did get a chance, but it didn't go in. It didn't really matter that he missed, we were all thrilled he was able to try it.

I think they won 6-3 or something like that.

After a busy morning, we had some lunch and then headed over to see Holton play floor hockey. 

It was a fast game and they played hard- we were pretty excited to see Holton score a goal- AND their team won!

We had one more game today. 

But first we did a bit of shopping- man kids are expensive!

This was extremely tough game- an exciting game! 

There was a very close call when Kalia playing defender that brought her to tears, it almost brought the parents who were cheering to tears and her team mates to tears. It was tie 1-1 and everyone had worked hard for their one point.....

She was playing hard defending her goalie- the other team got a break away and was screaming toward her. She was the only player close, and so she aimed to kick the ball out of bounds (which is what she is supposed to do) it ALMOST went into the goal. 

Seriously it was a foot from going in, with our goalie on the other end of the goal.

It would have been a disaster if it had gone it. But LUCKILY it didn't!

In the end High River lost, in a shoot out.

Ending their blowout season in 2nd Place. 

There were tears from many of the players- 

including the goalies, our Kalia, and 5 or 6 other players.

It was a great season for these kids-

they played hard even though most of their games and practices were in the cold and/or rain!

Coach Bob is a great coach- this team was able to grow and work together for 2 years!

Next year they split with half moving up.

2019 Spring Session was a success!

AND on the way home we pulled over and watched the Chuck Wagon Races!

By the time everyone was in bed- everyone was sound asleep in minutes. 

Finishing quilts, cleaning, swimming and movie

I finished Kalia's Quilt top Friday morning- and finished an old Christmas Quilt I had almost finished 2 years ago! Justin was bugging me to get our house back to normal- but I sure did enjoying sewing for a month!

I can't wait for July 20 when I take 5 quilts to the long arm to Machine Quilt!

I finished this scrappy star Christmas Quilt- its for Annaliesse I think.

Its pretty small for a bed- but Annaliesse doesn't really sleep with quilts anyways- she prefers the soft minky blankets to sleep with. HAHA Which is FINE.

It just breaks this Momma Quilters heart a little each night.😂

This one will be tied for Annaliesse, as she won't really use it. It will mostly be on the floor of her room- and for that she gets this one. (to real for the blog?) 

Barker and Annaliesse will have a Christmas Quilt this year- (Barkers is the Gnome Quilt)- I am hoping to start Remy's Christmas Quilt soon.

Sewing got put away.

Threads swept.

Living Room decluttered from all the things I was ignoring.

Kitchen scrubbed.

Kids got home from school and we headed to the pool for a swimming assessment. 

I didn't get the kids in lessons last year, and the lifeguards didn't like my guessing on what lessons they should be in.

I was 100% right for all my kids PS

Oh well- they swam after the assessment for a hour and half- loving it.

The High River Recreation Complex does a Movie night every so often and when we were leaving the swimming the movie Toy Story was showing with Free Popcorn and Pop! 

The kids were all over that. So we stayed and watched for a bit. 

As we were getting in the van to go home Annaliesse was like-

"Best Night Ever! Swimming, movie, popcorn AND pop!"

HAHAHA

Justin and Kalia helped me get a picture of Kalia's quilt top when we got home. 

It was windy and raining but we got one :)

It's really big. She loves it!

It should be able to follow her through High School and University if she doesn't ruin it.

A grown up, classy quilt for my 11 year old who acts like 15....

Soccer Round Up

Soccer is coming to an end and its be such a fun season!

Kalia is in the Gold metal finals with her U13 team.

Remy has rocked our socks off, putting her all into every session- she absolutely loves it.

Barker has had to miss most of his soccer games this year as Lacrosse over lapped a ton this year.

Next year he will just play Lacrosse, but he as enjoyed the games he attended and the soccer practices. 

Poor Annaliesse with her broken finger sure missed the soccer season this year.
