Remy is still at the age of funny sleeping positions- its hilarious.

Grandpa and Grandma stop by a few times a week- they always get snuggles.

Sunday Come Follow Me at Grandpas- the adults team up with kids. This Sunday the adults had a hard time being serious. Everything was funny, we got off topic almost every 2 minutes and would laugh and say that's not what we are talking about tho! Grandpa could not figure out what scripture him and Remy were doing, I love Barkers legs crossing (which is why I took the pic!), Grandma did her best to keep us focused on Come Follow Me!

Terrible pic of Mommy- but that's what happens when the 9 year takes the pic. Annaliesse and I did a day of Baking this weeK! We made 4 different kinds, and frozen them in assorted batches for summer! We made Barker school cookies, chocolate crinkles, chocolate chip candy canes and Monster cookies! Dozens and dozens of them It took us ALL afternoon.

A Saturday Building stuff

Kalia has been asking Justin to help her build a Mountian shelf for months. Granted Kalia always asks at the MOST awkward time. Right at bedtime, when we are leaving for the weekend, when her other siblings have commitments we are going to, when he is just finished cleaning up the garage or walking into the house from a project. This time she managed to ask Thursday if she could build Saturday with Justin. He said YES! She was thrilled.

They were out in the garage starting before I had woken up- 9:30 am. Justin at this time had already driven into the city, bought lumber and done some errands. He is an early riser guys, his wife, is not.

It didn't take them long to build the shelf- Mommy watched and chatted and read from a lawn chair. The kids played around- trying their best to be in the way and be loud.
Barker is really good at this.

Remy spent her time in the house playing with melty beads and the iPad.

I thought after the shelf we were done outside for the day- boy was I wrong. Justin planned and bought all the lumber to close in our back deck. Barker was thrilled as he helped screw in the deck boards and he LOVED it. He was actually pretty dang good with the drill, Justin and I were impressed with how well he did. Lots of practice as each board got at least 4 screws.

Kalia stained her mountains with Remy's help while Annaliesse swam I the pool. I read a book in my new lawn chair Justin spoiled me with!

Closing in the deck definitely polished off the back yard- it looks so clean and good. He bought the EXACT right amount of wood for the project and finished off about 5pm. Which was perfect- we headed out for a date night at 7pm.

Look at how good Kalia's self looks in her room- we offered to hang it for her, but she likes it in the window. Easy enough for us- and how cute!! (she took the pic)

They boys went to hit some balls this week. Well really the men went and Barker tracked them down on his bike and joined them LOL

I ordered some super cute earring from my cousins child. I love them Keira!

There has been so much rain this season this day I candled Barker and Kalia's ears while we all watched Fellowship of the Ring extended version, the first of the Lord of the Ring Series. Of which we hope to watch all 3 this summer.

Durning the hight of COVID lockdown I order a Munchpak from online and we have been totally enjoying the snacks from all around the world. Our favourite from the pack was these, from Italy I believe!!

Got a topsy tail in the mail we have been playing with. I drove by a couple of my YW house and we chatted for awhile! Taelor showed me some awesome earring she made with the YW logo. They are adorable!

Cat Creek Falls

Living up the start of Summer like our live depends on it! Today we climbed Cat Creek with Jennifer Murry and her kids. Jen is moved into AB a couple years ago from Ontario-they are still learning all the things this area has to offer. We met on the sidewalk a couple weeks ago and planned an outing in the mountains. We had a great few hours at Cat Creek with the kids- it was an easy hike to start the summer off with :)

Happy Graduation!

This evening we were invited to celebrate Jaydin's High School Graduation. With all the COVID things happening, Karla and Cyril wanted to make sure and do fun things for Jaydin- it was a lovely backyard BBQ, Graduation Party.

I figured we would also use her fabulous photo drop to celebrate our kids Graduating too!
Kalia is going into her last year of Middle School- Grade 8. She is pretty excited about her new home room teacher and is already missing the laxy way she got away with school for the last 3 months.

Annaliesse is going into Grade 7! Having a hard time with that one- Mommy, not Annaliesse. Annaliesse is SOOO ready for back to school. She craves structor and teachers, friends and alone time from her siblings. She is also super happy with her draw of Home Room! Whoop Whoop!

This kid- Barker is heading into Grade 4. Only 2 years left at Elementary, although if it was up to Mommy all my kids would forever be in elementary school. Barker has Mrs King for Grade 4- a teacher who Mommy is good friends with and we are both super excited about it.

Rupert is leaving Grade 1 in the dust and going into Grade 2. She is thrilled that her best friend's Mom is her new Grade 2 teacher. She will do stellar. Mommy keeps trying to convince her to stay home with Mom forever but she always responds with "Mommy I need to learn!!"

What a fun evening of family and visiting, celebrating Grad and hanging in the backyard.

These 3 amigos LOVED the photo props. All night they played with props, taking pictures and playing little games-it is so nice to see them play so well.

Happy Fathers Day Justin! ❤

❤ HAPPY FATHERS DAY JUSTIN!!

For Fathers Day this year we decided last minute to head out into Nature. The hard part was figuring out where to got at 10:30 am Sunday and if we had enough food in our house to manage such an adventure. We decided to head south to Lumbrek Falls- we had never been. The drive started off well enough, even if we did have to turn back for me get another allergy pill as I have been DYING the last couple weeks. Unbeknown to us, there is major construction on Cowboy Trail, aka Highway 20. Following lead car type traffic, in a few spots, lucky for us, the kids were happy with movies and snacks....

We pulled up to the Falls and were a little let down I am sad to say... The kids and I were expecting more of a Sheep River Falls feel, instead we got a touristy chain link fence feel. Spreading the blanket out for lunch we tried to put a smile on and convince the kids it was awesome with pictures and exciting chatter. THEN noticing we could get closer to the falls down some stairs we didn't see- it got better. The picnic was downed in record time and down closer to the falls we got.

That was more like it :) The kids got a bit wet, laughed at how loud it was and did their best to not get muddy. Remy lost that battle, as she slipped and sat down in the mud right in front of Justin and I. Whoops.

After exploring the bottom of the falls, and under the bridge as much as we could, which is NOT a whole lot, we headed to Frank Slide to let the kids climb on the rocks for a while. We stopped at the Frank Slide Interruptive Centre last Summer, and did a bit of climbing but not all of us had appropriate footwear. Climbing on a fallen Mountian was a highlife for these kids.

Leaving Frank Slide getting ready to head home we stopped at Lietch Collieries Provincial Historic Site. I have driven by for years and never stopped. Wanna know a secret- they have FLUSH toilets there! And other historical things too- sheesh relax. Toilets are important when you have a child who will NOT use an outhouse. It doesn't matter how bad she has to pee or poo she WILL hold it. If you have never stopped its a neat little site to walk around and explore.

We got home right around dinner time, BBQ Chicken and Tinfoil Potatoes, one of our favourite dinners and Grandma and Grandpa came over. It was a lovely Sunday out.
