Mom and Dad off galavanting around Florida- sending us pictures of Disney fireworks and Daytona Beach!

Remember that time when Brother Dawley saved the day by leading the rest hymn when the chorister was out nursing. He was up getting ready to be the closing speaker, and sprang into action. 😂😂

Remy has been keeping herself busy- like she always does. I love watching her imagination work and decide what new game she is going to play for the day. Here she is counting all the different cards and writing it down.

Our YW wanted to do a workout activity.

On a totally mundane note: our front door handle broke, right durning the super cold snap. It was rather frustrating having to shake the door, shove the door and sometimes kick the door to get in the house. Luckily the door handle had lifetime warranty and we were able to get a replacement one sent to us. It took a couple weeks of frustration on everyones part- especially since we are still parking outside due to the craft group projects going on in the garage, so the front door was used all day everyday.

Axe Games

At the beginning of the year I challenged Justin to try new date nights. We were in a terrible rut of Dinner and a Grocery Shop. Of course not counting our once a month temple trips ;)

The Conway's and Moxley's have been on some awesome double dates lately. So far we have had Indian Food from a delightful place on 130th- this is exciting because Justin doesn't like to try new things, but he will when there are others around to help nudge him to try new things. We played at an adult arcade, done the batting cages, Karaoke where Justin and Logan rocked out to If I Had A Million Dollars, attended a Music Festival (just Justin and I) and have had more Chicken Wings then each of our newborns put together. BUT This date, at the AXE GAMES was one of the funnest!

After a yummy dinner we headed to the NE to play Axe Games which I have seen lots of people playing lately. It was so fun. Surprisingly to all 4 of us, I am actually not a bad axe thrower.

A pretty good one actually- it does take a few throws to get used to it, but it was so fun. We threw for an hour, we probably could have gone longer as Justin and Logan let Angie and I have more turns as we were LOVING it.

I highly recommend this date night for all you friends out there.

Do you have any must do recommends for a different/fun date night?

Young Women's we did wood art for an activity, it was messy and so fun to see each girls different take on the same wood art!

I made soap with some friends durning Spring Break- there were 4 of us with 13 kids between us- so we used the church. The kids had a great few hours playing church and on the bounce house- while we made 3 batches of soap!

Remy is learning how to fold towels and it is so cute. Killing me but CUTE.

Olly got Baptized and we were lucky enough to attend his baptism. Barkers turn is coming up fast and he is getting pretty excited. Pretty sure Justin, Steve, Darcy, Lauren and I will never forget the baptism talk that contained words like pornography, Ouija board, drugs and how friends will pull you into sin. 😅😅

Skiing with the Laurels

At the end of 2018 the girls were discussing what they wanted to in 2019.
The older girls wanted a ski trip- with our 2 beehives (at the time) showing NO interest.
So we set it up!
3/5 of our Laurels/Mia Maids ended up coming and we had so much fun!
Eden had gone once, Charlies skis but wanted to try snowboarding and Madison had never gone.

Justin came along to teach- it was a good thing he did cause there is no way I could have helped them like he did!

The day was full of laughing and so much fun.

Girls you rock.

I love being your leader.

Grotto Canyon and Banff Hot Springs

Instead of a winter camp this year, we did 2 winter day trips.
With all of the YW in the ward we hiked Grotto Canyon- which was so fun.

We had 2 friends join us on the trip, neither of which had ever hiked, let alone winter hiked. So that was interesting for them. They enjoyed it for the first bit and then once we got to the Falls and realized they had to hike BACK, their faces were so cute, it was rather funny.

Here we are getting ready to put our Traction spikes on- I have to say a big Thank you to Brother Morraz and Brother Thompson. We wouldn't have been able to do this without you! They joined us just in time as our other YW was to sick to come.

It was warm , and some of the girls took of layers as we hiked. We ate carrots and enjoyed the scenery as we walked up the frozen creek.

The hike took us just over 2 hours there and back, which was what we expected! We had lunch at the cars and hopped into to head to the hot springs!

A wrong turn later and an awesome group rate thanks to the kind gentleman running the till we were in the hot springs! It was so nice to warm up and hang out with the girls in comfort!

Little did we know this was going to be the last relaxing part of the trip.

We got back in the 2 vans and headed home- only to find out Highway 1 was closed due to a 40 car pile up and the roads were terrible! It snowed all day and was rather warm, which resulted in slush, black ice and  snow all over the roads.

The 4 hour drive home was terrifying. At least for the drivers. Luckily the girls were ....... girls- they knew it was bad roads but they are never nervous it seems.

Stand still on Highway 1, diverted to Highway 1A, outhouse for teenage girls, traffic all over the roads, countless cars in the ditch, another bathroom break and then snow-covered roads for miles, more cars in the ditch, countless fishtailing and content prayers. My phone was going crazy, with a YW beside me texting back as fast as they were flowing in. By the time we got home and girls had all been picked up- I was.... Nevermind.

It was an amazing day- with a stressful ending.

Bouldering with BP's

We met the Bennetts for Bouldering during our Spring Break!
What started off as a bit of a frustrating morning ended hilariously.

The kids ended up loving Bouldering, just like I knew they would. Rock climbing is so fun with these 4, so I knew bounding would be lovely. Barker and Kalia took off like fish, which was predicable, the real surprise was how much Remy and Annaliesse liked it.

The Bouldering place had these little stuffs that they could take turns placing and then retrieving- which as mundane as it sounds, the kids had a great time. Lauren and I visited while the kids climbed and 2 hours passed quickly. We agreed to head over to Laurens for a bit before super to let the kids play a bit more in the gym and have a snack.

Where I got stuck in Laurens Driveway.

And had to wait for Justin to come get me out, extending our playdate.

We hung around so long it was now time for dinner- and with Lauren and I having no desire to cook we opted for Boston Pizza. We ended our great day of climbing, gym play, nachos and snow incidences with more laughing at BP's with our husbands.

Basketball & Gymnastics

Winter indoor sports are wrapping up in the next few weeks.

Annaliesse had her year end Basketball tournament  with school- where she got a basket when I had to miss the only 30 minutes of the day haha.

Good job sis
She sure has enjoyed playing this year in Grade 5.

Same day as Annaliesse's tournament Remy finished her Winter Gymnastics class.
She also had such a fun couple months tumbling and playing in the foam pit.
Her favourite part was the fact that she got to do it with Ray- which was just as well, as Lauren and I got to chat the class times away!

Skiing Lately

Today, Feb 15, is the Heart to Heart Market at Spitzee Elementary School- Barker had absolutely no interest in attending- Annaliesse and Remy are thrilled it was time again. Justins siblings were skiing so he took Barker and Kalia to the hill for the day while Remy and Annaliesse chose to stay at home and go to school so they didn't miss the market- as a result everyone was happy!

Justin got this new app on his phone that records how fast he skis- James had one and delighted in showing everyone how fast he was going. Justin being a boy, of course had to try and beat his speed.

He sent me this pic in the middle of the day- with 3 words.
I beat James.
No word on how our kids were doing on the hill. Just the important things 😂😂

Two days later we went skiing again, this time with all of us, Grandma Moxley, Aunt Krista and Uncle James. Our family all snowboarded (Remy did both as her legs are not strong enough to snowboard for a entire day) while James, Grandma and Krista skied.

Remy did AMAZING on her snowboard- really really really good.
She rocks her skis and now she's gonna dominate the snowboard too.

Going down the hill with a 5 year old on a snowboard takes significantly longer then when she can ski. She needs lots of breaks and often catches her toe edge, and ends up kissing the snow.

Calling out snow kisses when she falls on her face sounds sooo much better then Face Plant or Are you OK?!?!

Justin and James were able to come from the top both ski trips, our kids are not at that level.... yet.
