Pintested 2

I felt all domestic-y Monday. In the mood for Chicken Noodle Soup and Buns. I spent the whole day in the kitchen. Between the soup and buns, I worked on finishing Annnaliesse's school Halloween Costume.

Chicken Noodle Soup first up! I didn't feel a need for a recipe for the soup- but I have always wanted to try homemade noodles… so I used THIS recipe for her noodles.

I always assumed homemade noodles would be silly hard. But their not.. just time consuming. Justin liked them so much, he tried to convince me to get a noodle press! Success I think! Here is the just her noodle recipe.

Homemade Noodles:
6 eggs, beaten
Salt and pepper
1 tbls of milk
3-4 cups of flour, start with 3 and depending on consistency add more
1 chicken bouillon

Combine eggs, salt and pepper and milk, beat together. Add 3 cups of flour into the egg mixture, stir and add more flour until needed. You can knead it on countertop. (Not too sticky is what you’re looking for, easy to handle) Roll out the dough to a ¼ inch on a pre-floured countertop. Cut in half horizontally and then cut into ¼ inch striped.
Boil water in a LARGE pot and put 1 chicken bouillon into pot. Place noodles into water and cook for 4-5 minutes until noodles float. (Recommend to do in batches to not crowd the pot)
Before adding cooked noodles into pot take out bay leaves and de-skin, de-bone and shred the chicken. Place chicken back into pot. Add noodles, let all flavors combine for another 20 minutes on a low heat. Add more salt, pepper and/or chicken bouillon to taste. Before serving take out cheese rind if any remains. Serve and Enjoy.

Then I made these Buns to go with the soup.

They were fabulous! I changed the title of these Rolls, I don't know who Lambert is… so we shall call them HEART Rolls
Heres the recipe- but if you click on the photo it will take you to the original link.

HEART Rolls

Yield:
12 large dinner rolls
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 pkg.) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110-115 degrees F)
1 cup warm milk (110-115 degrees F)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose or bread flour
Butter, honey and/or sorghum molasses, for serving
Instructions:
(See additional notes for bread machine directions)
1. In a small bowl, combine the teaspoon of sugar and the yeast with the warm water and allow to foam (5-10 minutes).
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, egg and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir.
3. Stir in 3 cups of flour. Stir or knead in another cup of flour (or more, if needed) and knead for 5-10 minutes to make a smooth, elastic dough.
4. Scrape the large mixing bowl clean (or as clean as possible) and place dough in the bowl. Grease the top of the dough with butter or oil and cover with a clean cloth. Place in a warm location (I turn the oven on for 1-2 minutes, then turn OFF and place covered bowl in the warm oven to rise) and let rise until doubled in size, about 60-90 minutes.
5. Liberally butter a 12-cup muffin pan. With buttery hands, deflate the dough and divide into 24 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Place two balls in each muffin cup. Gently grease the tops and cover with a clean towel.
6. Let rolls rise in a warm place until nearly doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes, until tops are browned and rolls are done. (Check rolls after 15 minutes, and cover loosely with foil to prevent excess browning, if needed.)
Toss hot rolls and serve with butter, honey, and/or sorghum molasses!

All it all it was a good meal. Definitely a keeper! A make againer.

Vanilla Extract

We decided to do Homemade Vanilla Extract for little gifts this year.
You know, people you home and visiting teachers, School Teachers, and Co workers.

Mom and Dad's Christmas thing has before been a open house for the ward, but for those who you teach its nice to give them a little something something.

SOO for the last couple of years, I wanted to make homemade vanilla extract!
Grandma and I ordered all the supplies, paid someone to pick up the booze and got to work…

THEN, Grandpa brought it up that its kinda like handing out Bacardi Soaked Vanilla beans to members of your ward. NOW I totally disagree, Grandma and I would LOVE to get homemade vanilla as a gift… but are we alone in our thoughts?

Well, we had all the stuff, and made it on Friday.

Answer me truthfully, if you are, or can imagine to be LDS would you be offended by my making Homemade Vanilla?

Pumpkins

Its that time of year again.
Pumpkins, guts, knifes, paint, guts, seeds, guts… kids love it. Mom and Dad help and clean up.
Everyday for a week the kids have been asking if it is time to do pumpkins, Friday was the day.

Best thing about craft paint… you can wash it off, and they can paint them again and again!

Remy could be a poster child for a baby swing. She loves it! As soon as we put her in it, turn it on, she looks up into the mirror and laughs, coos and smiles.

She hates her bumbo. Longest time in it… 5 minutes.

After the painting, its time to carve the big ones.

THANK GOODNESS ITS FRIDAY!!

What a week! It seemed like it would never end, but at the same time it flew by. I got through it... with a couple cases of DP and in a permeant state of exhaustion. I didn't do anything super fantastic, but my body it be hate'n on me.

Love this Remy kid.

This crafting group is kicking my trash… well not really, but it is time consuming! Next week, onto cutting would for 50+ projects.

Taking advantage of the couple days of GREAT weather.

Picking up a few things, for different project happening tomorrow.

Got my Grinch craft done!

AND trying to spend quality time with my littles.

Celebrate

I put on a NEW pair of socks today.

They feel fantastic.

Celebrate the little things.

4:30 haunts me

Nothing new to report.

Still trying to keep afloat- Remy sleeps really well- only wakes up twice… but the second time is 4:30 and then she grunts for a hour before she falls back asleep. By then she has woken Mommy up and mommy finds it next to impossible to fall back asleep.

It makes Mommy really tired. Like really really tired.

Our last couple of weekends have been rather subdued too- cleaning out the garage for winter, putting a garden in before winter, and picking up something from ikea for our next project.

PS I love this ecard.

Our Craft night is going strong! I am excited for the couple of Christmas nights that are coming!!

Justin walked in the kids room, to cover them up before we went to bed, and he found Annaliesse sleeping with socks on her hands.

Remy's little hands. Oh how I love this sweet baby stage!

Krista sent me this photo of Jason, James and Justin. Its such a fun shot!

Sorry, can't get enough of Remy! She has been smiling since Tuesday- now I just need to capture it!

My 2857 Tabs

Have you seen this ecard floating around the internet?

It seems like I have WAAAY too much thinking time on my hands. Seriously, a nursing mother HAS to sit down numerous times a day- and if a nursing mother happens to sit down without taking her phone out of her back pocket first, has about 20 minutes to do nothing but think and plan.

I love planning. Its one of my favorite past times. Thinking is ok too… but it tends to lead to more planing, so I am just grouping it all together.

My thoughts lately have been on a million different things.

~How awesome was Elder Oaks talk at General Conference? My favorite quote from that talk "We believe that the ultimate treasures on earth and in heaven are our children and posterity."

I LOVE that. Everyday I look at my children and I can't believe how lucky I am to be a mom. I get to love them and teach them 24/7. I get to see their special spirits radiating from their little bodies. I get to hug and kiss them when they need a reminder of how special they are. I get to be the one who stands up for them and protects them against this crazy world. I get to be the one to hold and care for their earthly bodies until they can do it themselves. I get to be the one who teaches them about their heavenly parents and how much they love them. I get to teach them about eternity and how we can ALWAYS be together if we follow our Heavenly Father.

~ Baby skin is soooo soft. I love to kiss Remy's little face and her neck folds. She is 7 weeks old, and time is zooming by- I am determined to enjoy her to the fullest. This morning I laid in bed holding Remy and snuggling with Justin, wishing I could remember every touch, smell and thought about that blip of perfect.

~ I am hard at working getting some quilts done for Christmas presents. The latest one has got to be my favorite. The colors are beautiful, but now to figure out what to trim it in and then what pattern to choose next. I have one more quilt top to do before I back them all at once. By the middle of November the goal is to have all 4 done, boxed and wrapped. Then if I STILL feel like I can pump out another before Christmas that would make me even happier!

~ Having Church music or classical music playing in the background while I complete mundane tasks is so relaxing. This morning while cuddling Remy and holding Barkers legos the music keeps everyone in a calm mood.

~There are so many crafting projects I want to get done, sooner rather then later. However, there never seems to be enough time in a day! Granted if I ignored all my "mundane" responsibilities I could craft a LOT more… BLAH laundry, dishes, dinner- you must be done, but I wish somedays for a couple of fairy like Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. My little craft group is soooo fun =, yet at times I find it very frustrating. It takes a lot of work and planning and some of the women just seem to enjoy the benefits while being extremely rude. Anyways…. I am determined to get a CHIRST advent calendar done this year- to go alone with our book countdown. Don't you love the look of this one?

~ I finished a couple books this week. Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson and  The longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. I highly recommend BOTH of them.

~ Kalia is learning to read. She is THAT old ALREADY! I need to spend more time devoted to her love of reading. Anyone have any great thoughts on how to do that- besides the obvious.

Thanksgiving!

What a great weekend!

Saturday hang out at home, taking it easy. Daddy took the kids out for a bit in the morning, then mommy and the kids did some drawing. Naps then off to Okotoks to pick up a few things.

Sunday we had Thanksgiving dinner with the Moxley's. As always it was nice to visit among the chaos that comes with 20+ grandkids and 10+ adults.

Monday was the Chipman Thanksgiving- getting bigger and bigger each year! I wonder how many will join us next year?? Not a lot of photos of this weekend but here are a few shots.

Remy is such a sweet baby.

The girls played baking while Mommy and Grandma made Grandma Moxley's Pumpkin Tarts!
The Moxley tarts may become a regular at the Chipman thanksgiving too!

The Moxley grandkids. Side note: for the last 3 or 4 Moxley family pics, Barker has tossed a massive fit. Usually because it is either nap time or past bedtime.

Kalia's turkey she made at school and her thankful booklet.

Annaliesse singing her turkey song from school.

Fall

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year.

LOVE and luckily it is rubbing off on Kalia.

Last Wednesday she came home jabbering about leaves and coloring. Daddy had come home early to help me figure some stuff out, and so after that, he took the kids out on a bike ride to find leaves! When they got home instead of making dinner, like a good mom, we all sat down and did leaf rubbings!
