Remy Iris Ann Moxley

If I was a Debbie downer, I would have sworn this day would never come.

I started having contractions three weeks ago. What?

Yes, yes. Three weeks ago.

For three weeks, almost every evening starting at about 6pm I would get painful Braxton hicks/ false contractions/ cramping/ shoot-me-now pain.

My poor family and Justin. I have been useless in the evenings! I would just retire our bedroom or a bathtub and leave the rest of the house to fend for themselves.

Anyways Saturday August 24- I was rather fed up. Done with the whole situation. Justin and grandma and grandpa have been so supportive- but they were done too.  So I started off the day on the trampoline for 15 minutes. Then Justin and I took the kids off to finish school shopping- Walmart, staples then onto the mall. Lets just say we walked and walked and walked and walked.

Pulling into High River, Debbie-downer popped out and doubted all we had done. After a quick stop at Extra Foods for some orange juice and caster oil- we headed home.

Have you done Caster Oil? It's gross.

After 2tbsp and some orange juice, I felt like I had gotten the flu. My stomach hurt and I was soon barfing. Lovely.

I headed upstairs for nightly contractions and to barf in peace. I finally fell asleep about 9:30 but I woke up again at 10:30 with a strong contraction. Fell back asleep and then up again at 11:30 with another really strong one. I was really rather annoyed at this point- stupid caster oil, stupid idea, stupid barf.
I fall back asleep again and was up at 12:10am… a strong one again. BLAH! But then I couldn't fall asleep, and got another one strong one right away.  I got up, drank some water, walked around and was just waiting for them to stop.

Finally it dawned on me that they might not go away this time.. in fact they just might be getting stronger. So I waddled myself back to bed and timed them. 4 minutes long 2 minutes apart. It took me about 45 minutes to decide to wake Justin up. I got him up at 1:10 and told him it was time.

A small part of me thought I was over reacting- but I went ahead anyway. Justin got up, asked if I wanted him to time me… I told him no- lets just go. We were in the truck and pulling out of High River at 1:30 am.

I almost made him turn around… but a couple more strong ones and we kept going. We pulled into Rocky View at 2:10 and by the time we got up to the maternity ward it was 2:15 am.

The nurse took her sweet time admitting me and once we got into maternity triage the resident Dr came right in. I had seen her before and had told her how fast I progress. So she checked me and I was 8 cm and water bulging.

It was rather crazy after that. They rushed my bed into another room and I had another massive contraction but managed to change beds. As soon as I rolled over my water broke and just missed Justin's shoe.

From there it was just a matter of a couple pushes and out popped our baby girl! The whole thing seemed surreal and waay to fast.

Born at 2:40 am on August 25 coming in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches long.

Justin finally gave in the next morning about 11 am, we choose the name
Remy Iris Ann Moxley.

Grandma and Grandpa brought the kids in at noon, and Grandma Moxley came shortly behind them.

Beach

Summers coming to a close… we somehow managed to hit the beach twice this year.

Twice. Kinda Pathetic… no really really Pathetic
Next year I swear, to my children, we will triple that (at least)!!

Annaliesse loves to just float around. Either with cousins or by herself.

Kalia had a great time- playing with cousins, meeting other random boys who follow her around, and messing in the mud.

Barker plays so well this summer. Last summer he cried and sat on my lap the whole time- every time.
THIS year he hardly noticed us! Come over for a bit of food, maybe some pop- other then that he is to busy playing!

Barker also loved that little tube- he would poke his toes in the water but always with the tube.

I took this picture last week.

It transported me back 2 years ago to this picture.

Crazy how Barker is how old Annaliesse was… and we have another baby on the way- just like we did 2 years ago. Time fly's by when your blissfully happy!

A Rock

Saturday morning park trip.

The kids love the park- its a daily activity…

Sometimes we feel the need to change things up. Like getting a rock stuck up someones nose.

In Barkers defense- rocks being thrown by his sisters, laughing… not sure how it got up there… but it did. He tried to get it out, and succeed in pushing it further up.

I tried the "Mothers Kiss" but it was waaaay to far gone. I called Justin who was on his way home from work, and told him to meet us at the hospital. I should have worded it a bit better, he got way to excited- until I informed him it was for a rock up Barkers nose.  Off the Hospital we went, after waiting for 1/2  hour Barker started to get bored. Jumping on the gurney seemed like a good idea, in fact on a particular hard bounce- the rock came far enough out for Justin to grab.

Moral of the story.. maybe we just should have jumped on the trampoline for a while before we went in.

Dawn of the Living Dead

We had a GREAT day yesterday. This morning was like Dawn of the Living Dead.

But sometimes great days are followed by mornings like that :)

The High River Parent Link Center puts on a massive Carnival every year. Usually its at George Lane Park, but the Flood trashed that park.. so they used the Park right behind our house!! Crazy!

Jen, Tammy and Sheena all came out to play! It was a great day!

Three bouncy houses!

Tattoos!

Some of the cousins waiting in the 45 minute line up for face paint.

Face Painting was the kids favorite part- that and the free slurppies!

We have Cinderella Annaliesse

Matching Belle Princesses Kalia and Ashliegh

And Dragon Barker!

After a long day at the Carnival, and playing the afternoon away in the backyard, we headed into Calgary and went swimming with Sheena and Tammy.
A Pizza Hut stop first where I got the great shot of Barker chilling eating his fries!

We meet them up at the Village Square Liesure Center- way up in the North East. It was a really nice pool and the kids had great evening. A long hot day, followed by a great swim = a really late night.

Wet and Wild Wednesday!

Finally some hot weather!

Yesterday surpassed 21 degrees - AND it was sunny. Rain has been a constant companion of High River lately. So when the sun decided to grace us with its presence- we took full advantage!

At the Park by 9:30 then onto the spray park by 10:45!

It was a beautiful wedding and it so exciting to be welcoming another member to our family!

Annaliesse and Kalia were flower girls!

Aunt Laura was a  Bridesmaid.

It was fantastic Day. I am so happy for my little Bro!

They even had a DANCE- every photo from the dance is crazy blurry… my bad.
