Raymond/Magrath Sprint

Saturday we spent the day between Raymond-Magrath-Raymond again visiting our Grandmothers and Great Grandmothers.

Grandma Iris Chipman is celebrating her 20th Birthday today and Aunt Shawna had a little lunchen for her in Magrath. We also stopped in to say Happy 98th Birthday to Grandma Selman, her Birthday was last week. And to make the visit really worth while, and hit all 3 living Grandparents we stopped in to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Martin on the way home.

Justin has no appreication for Wilson Philips. A talented group of singers from the 90's. The girls were doing their home reading on the way down, Barker and Remy where busy on ipads and I was singing. He seemed to think it was a bit to loud, I love loud music.

The girls both played Grandma Selman a piano piece while we were there.

We all  love Aunt Shawns, but the kids do especially; lots of toys she brings specially brings for them from Preschool, a hot tub that is always open and ready for them to play with, adults to hold them and let them play fooseball with and always good food.

Another Saturday full of Family.

Snapshots

Barker got his shots yeaterday. We had a little conversation about who takes his phone calls... Barker: does remy have to get shots? Mom; no just you. Barker: why not remy? Mom: it's only you this time. They called for just you. Barker: why did they call you and not me? Mom: cause I am your mom. Barker gives me this exasperate look.

Kalia and Annaliesse have been begging for a recorder from school. They both wore us down.

Barker kept getting into stuff yesterday, so I said to him- I am going pee ( hoping he won't get into anything) Barker then says to me- "you don't need to tell me that" I love his voice and comments.

Kalia is loving Activity Days.

My most darling kitchen helper.

Potty time? Not quite.

We tried potty training yesterday and this morning. New panties, suckers for treats, happy smilies about toilets and pee.

She did good for the first hour. Peed on the potty got a sucker. Then had no accident for a hour. Then naptime, she wore a diaper and it had pee when she woke up. The back into underwear. She lasted 1 hour then pooped in them. After a long bath she wouldn't put panties back on.

We tried again this morning. She say on the potty twice then got up and peed all over the floor. She isn't quite ready. We will try again in a few months.

Fire pit FHE

The weather has been so ridiculously beautiful, I had to find a way to enjoy it more. I contacted all my sister in laws up north to see if they wanted to do a fire pit FHE. We tried to make it work, but it was just wasn't working. We had all the stuff packed and the kids were so excited. So we called a couple friends and did a last minute FHE with friends here in High River.

It was great fun with rolling down the hill, flaming mellows, pee on pants, vomit and embers on a cheek. Normal time with kids. Thanks to the friends who found time to come and join us :)

A good visit, but let's do it when it's warmer.... By the end the 2 littlest were freezing!!!!

Wizard of Oz

So Mom bought season tickets to Broadway across Canada this year. And fortunately for Laura and I, she was in Arizona for Wizard of Oz!

In fact she tried really hard to make it work, switching her tickets, but she ended landing in Calgary 1/2 hour after the play started. So she wouldn't have made it. Laura and I took Dads car up to the airport for them and headed to the show. The flight was delayed and they lost Dad's luggage in Vancouver... and turns out I parked Dad's car in a obscure parking lot miles away from civilization and costing them a arm and a legs.... sorry again. It was a long evening for them and a great one for us :)

Thanks for the tickets, Mom.....

I sure do love these Broadway musicals. So far in the last 10 years I have seen. Les Miserable (2), Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Wicked, River Dance, Phanton of the Opera (2) and now, Wizard of Oz. In the next year and a bit we get to see Newsies, Annie and Cinderella!!  I love doing these with my mom and sisters. Makes such fun memories.

Family Sunday

What a great Sunday. We had a family fast and then everyone came over to ours for dinner, Mark and Lindsay even came up after church from Lethbridge!!
AND the kids behaved 1,000,000 better in scarament meeting then last week. Yes it helped that there was 5 adults to 4 kids, but thats how lucky we are :)

Before church I announced that we were going to do another family selfie.
Justin and the kids acted like it was the end of the world... we got these beautiful pictures as a result.
A family selfie from the ceiling... thanks honey.

So everyone came over about 3:30 and we had home made buns, mormon gravy, potatoes, carrots, jello, and salad. When your feeding 8 adults and 4 kids after fasting, you gotta have lots. In fact 34 buns were eaten at dinner, and 2 of the adults didn't have any :) I use a bun recipe from my great (possibly 2 greats) Grandma Chipman. It smells so good and they are so light and fluffy.... they are such a amazing addition to any family get together.

After dinner they guys gave one of us a blessing and then everyone spent time visiting and playing with this awesome new app Uncle Miles found.

It was so nice having Mark and Lindsay come up for Sunday family dinner!! Hopefully we can do this again soon!

100 Days of School

Spitzee Elementary makes a big deal out of the 100th day of school.
They do fun projects, games, and snacks! For the first couple years the kids just bring in a 100 objects to sort, count and play games with. As they get older they start to bring in projects using 100 things.

Last year Kalia made a abacus out of fruit loops and a cereal box.

So we sat down to figure out what they wanted to do this year, Kalia decided she wanted to make a centipede with 100 legs, and Annaliesse wanted to do 100 stickers.
Mommy talked like a dutch uncle trying to convince Annaliesse to do something a bit more creative and fun, but it was no use.

Kalia's project took a couple hours and Annaliesse was done in 25 minutes.

Annaliesse is just tickled pink about her poster board... she is so happy with it.

Annaliesse's 100 Days of School Project Frozen themed stickers.
Divided in groups of 5.
We are happy your so excited Annaliesse.

Kalia took her time. She had to paint all the foam circles. This was a not exactly easy with 2 siblings trying to help.

The hardest part of her project was waiting for the paint to dry.
After the paint was mostly dry we stick the balls together with a Bamboo BBQ stick. She glued on the big eyes.
Then Mommy helped her poke the holes with a toothpick and she attached the 100 needed legs in groups of 20.

Good Job Kalia, your so full of ideas and creativity!
