Sports Mom

I have something to say about being a sports Mom.

Sometimes it is NOT easy. Its either that or I am losing my mind completely. So... lets go with the sometimes its hard AND I'm not perfect.

Wednesday night Annaliesse had a game in Calgary.
Mom said she would take the other three for me so Kalia could go to Activity Days and Remy could go to bed on time. I was SO Grateful she did. Grandma ended up working late and I meet her in Aldersyde to give her the other 3. I was almost late at this point but made it up on the Highway.

At one point I knew what field she was playing at. But I forgot.

Ended up going to the East Calgary Soccer Centre instead of the West Calgary Soccer Centre.

Thats a HUGE mix up.

I was on the freaking wrong side of the freaking city.

SO I am driving down Stony Trail looping around the entire city trying to get her to her game before it started :( Then she barfed. In the van. Luckily we had a half empty water bottle to catch it in.
There was no time to stop we sealed it and kept going. Annaliesse also had to pee so so so bad. It was rush hour traffic.

THEN Siri LIED to me!! She said there was a exit and there was NO EXIT.
At this point Justin was ridiculously frustrated with me. I called him in almost tears and he told me how to get there. Her game started at 6- she got there at 5:53

Enough time to pee and get her jersey on.

I hate the CITY. not really but I hated it Wendesday

It was a hard game. The girls ended up loosing 4-3.
They just didn't play as well as they had been.

Turns out Annaliesse wasn't the only one with a sore stomach. Remy barfed for mom twice.
Wednesday also turned out to be the first day of three Remy was sick. Poor baby.

Craft Group

CRAFT NIGHT PAINT NIGHT

There were some requests for a Paint Night Craft Night. Lucky for me I have a friend who actually TEACHES paint nights for a company called Paint & Cocktails. She agreed to teach at the church for our local crafty ladies! The ladies paid for materials and were instructed for free!! Thanks so much Joci for doing that! We had 13 people- prefect size for something like this.

Craft Group is 5 years old now and I have met some wonderful women and learned talents I am so grateful to have :)

Painting is NOT one of my talents. FYI

There were some amazing women there with Painting talents leaking out of every pour. Seriously you all amaze me.

Thats my new hashtag.

Annaliesse and Barker are in Lacrosse this year. Which means Barker practices twice a week, Annaliesse practices once or twice a week, with games on top of that, during the week!! Sometimes she plays 4 times a week. Kalia starts soccer this week, 1 practice on Tuesdays and she has a game on every Saturday. Both these sports go right till the end of June. So LOTS of sports posts for the next little bit- cause THAT will BE our LIFE.

April 22 she had her first League game. She is a Okotoks Raider Novice Girl.

Payton, Sherliyn and Jays Son, also played April 22 at the South Soccer Centre. So we headed in early to watch Payton play and then Annaliesses game was after! So much family came to support her!! Aunt Karla, Uncle Cyril, Jaydin and Mateya. Jay and Sherilyn and their youngest 4. Mom and Dad and Uncle Mark and Arlie and Grandma Moxley!!

The game was so fun to watch! The Raiders won 2-1 after a great game. Annaliesse played well! By no means is she the star of the show, but she tries and is a determined little cuss. We are happy she is enjoying the sport so far- but we have a long way to go in the next two months. Hopefully after her 3 days in a row this week she will still be loving it. Wish us luck on Spring Sports!!

For those of you who may want to come support HERE is a link to her game days. She is OK 1 NG

The Zoo

The Easter GrandBunny got us Zoo passes this year!!
The older two were kinda of like, been there, done that.
But the younger two ESPECIALLY the youngest was SO EXCITED.

We alternate between a Zoo pass and Science Centre pass every year. Remy being 3 doesn't remember the Zoo at all. She was so thrilled to see everything AND she walked the entire way!
No more stroller for this girl.

As we walked into the Birds area in where the gorillas are a bird flew right in front of us and with his wing hit a little toddler boy. Barker and Remy were supper suspicious after that.

Excited to have some great Summer and Spring days at the Zoo!! Which friends have passes that want to join us??

Kalia found a Penguin that loved her white spring jacket and spent like 10 minutes playing with him. Moving her jacket around the glass and he followed it! IT was darling. So nice to see her genuine smile.

After the Zoo we hit up Peters for Milkshakes to share and ice cream cones for the littles.
Great Wednesday. Excellent.

Flames Gear

Justin, Grandpa and the kids got geared up for the Flames first Playoff Round.
Sadly as you all know they lost.. every single game.
Justin let the  kids stay up a bit later one night to let them watch a bit.
Barker was right chocked when he got sent to bed.
Sorry buddy- you didn't miss much
😐😐😐

Monday

Today is Monday and I spent the entire day doing Laundry (7 loads), baking 2 batches of muffins, cleaning the toy room, picking up groceries and running a few errands. This is nothing new. Its a normal thing. I almost don't want it to end.... cause after today the week gets INSANE. Seriously crazy.

So I'm gonna spend the rest of the afternoon back blogging, make Spaghetti for dinner (Barker has been begging me to make it), and then end the evening at Annaliesses Lacrosse Game in Okotoks.

These Yummy Poppyseed muffins will help us get through this week :)

PS to make this rainy day more enjoyable the kids collected worms... and dumped them in my garden... is there such a thing as tooo wormy for a small garden??

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday.
This picture shows these kids personalities lately.

Kalia has decided she doesn't want to match anymore.
That wasn't her only problem that morning... one of many.

These two are happy campers.

The family picture we managed to take.. this is the best one. How on earth are we going to raise these four to be respectful, happy, healthy, well adjusted, kind humans?!?!?!

Sunday the Primary children sang in Sacrament. This was Remy's first time standing at the front singing. As soon as she heard "Primary will sing now", she took off OUT of the sacrament hall. Off to Primary!! Luckily Laura and Miles were sitting on the edge and took off after her, brought her back in and up to the front to sing. She stood there smiling the whole song. Sang not one word, she had no idea what the words were. Neither did Barker, but thats normal. Kalia and Annaliesse sang and did great.

Sunday after church we had a lovely turkey dinner at Moms and Dads. They invited a few people from the ward over as well. Luckily they were fine with a loud, crazy and intense dinner with family.

It was a great Easter Sunday.

tonight

Justin let the kids stay up a bit late to watch a bit of the flames game. I was tidying the kitchen and eating dinner. At about 8:40 he started putting kids to bed. We have hugs, they brushed teeth and off to bed.

It's been a long day of fun. Barker spent the first couple hours of today in tears on and off until we got to the church gym about 10am.  We spent the morning playing there with Shields, Bennetts and Kennett's. Kalia sulked the entire time that all her friends were busy and the kids there weren't her age. The other three had a great time. Aunt Sherilyn texted about twelve and checked to see if anyone wanted to play this afternoon. I knew Kalia would really appreciate seeing Mckenna so we headed in after gathering Lacrosse gear, dropping something off and a quick Sobeys atop for lunch.

We spent a couple hours at Leishman's where Sherilyn gave me a few awesome parenting ideas, older kids played outside while youngest played hunny and Mom then off to Costco and Annaliesses Lacrosse practice from 6-7. Dinner wasn't ready until 7:40pm which is usually bedtime and the house wasn't a pleasant site either.

Anyways after a long day with kids, and gearing up for a week of spring break- I refreshed my Mommy battery. I snuck into Remy's room just after Justin put her to bed and snuggled with her until she fell asleep. She laid on my tummy, breathing in my ear. Then as she was driffing off into slumber she rolled off me, snuggled right next to me, slipping into sleep with our noses touching.

A OK day. With things that were good, frustrating and monotonous. With a perfect ending.

That's Motherhood.

And I love it.

Happy Easter Saturday

The Easter Bunny came over to our house!!
It was a small affair this year.
Easter bunny brought a bunch of candy and a Zoo pass.

Then off to play the day away with the Moxley's.
Coloring Eggs, playing outside, catapulting eggs and eating turkey.

As messy as colouring eggs is, and the work associated with it, it really is a fun tradition.

The day started out warm and sunny- then came the time to catapult eggs, and the weather turned. Windy, snow, cold. Of course.

This pair of girls are great. I luvr them. This catapult Justin made last year has been so fun. Egg Rolling is so two years ago.

Also new addition, Aunt Sherliyn decided to  put a bucket on her head to try and hit the flying eggs with her head. Turned out she couldn't get any so Justin decided to try. He got 5.... but he also got one on the back of the beck and one on his thigh (I think).
It was rather funny.

Remy working the catapult. She loved it. Again and again she went- until her last two eggs would NOT break after thrown 40 plus yards multiple times. She finally gave them to Mommy to do.

This kid does smile- even though she forgets sometimes.

After the awesome hour of tossing eggs the older cousins set up a egg hunt in Karla's backyard. Highlight for the little ones. Remy had to find hearts and Barker was #7. Kalia and Annaliesse didn't need help- luckily for me their were older cousins and older sisters to help the youngers. While the eggs were gathered we got dinner ready.

Another awesome holiday with family.
We sure missed Aunt Kim and her family- July 01 can't come soon enough!!

Good Friday

Good Friday Justin had off work.
Perfect day to attempt to finish the shed.
The kids played in the backyard, dug in the dirt, found worms, rode bikes and jumped on the trampoline.
Just the doors to finish... but he ran out of 2x4s and everything was closed.
That evening we had a BBQ at Grandmas and Grandpas, then I went to go help clean the temple that night. Justin couldn't find his recommend so he stayed home with the kids.

♬ Spring High River Childrens Choir Concert ♬

What a lovely Thursday morning.
The house needed to be tidied and dishes washed. Barker and Remy were so helpful.
Remy dried dishes with smile and was so happy. Barker helped for a bit, then spent some of the afternoon building Lego. He did so good got the whole Hanger build with almost no help.

The big girls had a half day Thursday so they were home early. Annaliesse and the two little ones helped me make Nest Cookies. Barker was so disgusted. He thought they looked liked disgusting piles of poop, he was also annoyed that I was wasting Mini Eggs. HE wanted to make Chocolate Chip Cookies.. he constantly reminded me.

Thursday evening was the High River Children's Spring Concert. The theme for this one was A Teddy Bear Picnic. Although we should have conveyed that better :) Live and Learn. I managed to borrow 5 Large Teddy Bears for Decoration. They turned out super cute.

The concert was a bit rough... some of the children had a hard time singing. But it was alright in the end. All the songs they sang made no sense. They sang

  • Seven Silly Songs
  • Teddy Bear Picnic
  • Thats How it Goes
  • Alouette
  • Mairzy Doats
  • Thunder and Lightening
  • Little Brown Bugs

The concert started at 6:00 pm. They sang all their songs, we gathered after for treats and visiting. Which is always a highlight. Annaliesse and Justin left right after the singing- she had Lacrosse Practice at 7pm. It was nice to thank the kids one more time and visit with friends. Everyone was gone and cleaned up by 7. So the three kids and I headed into Annaliesse's Lacrosse Practice to support her.

Thursday was insane. On my feet all day- good thing for DP and Audiobooks.

Snapshots

Barker in his Lacrosse Jersey. He is darling.

Remy finds Spring Sports exhausting. We have been doing lots of drop offs and pick ups, stop here and there quick, then onto the Rec Plex.... She fell asleep on the way home from dropping Annaliesse off at Lacrosse, she slept while Daddy got her out and on his shoulder for 20 minutes while we fed Barker a snack and slept till Justin put her back in her carseat. Luckily she woke up happy and ready to go again.

We got our 2016 Blog Books in the mail! Kids have been reading them all week.

Gils got home Thursday and wanted to try my "lipstick" please. I figured why not.... I would rather you be playing with Barbies but I guess if you want to wear a bit of Lipsense we could do that. They wore it all afternoon and then durning Activity Days... as you know Lipsense stays on quite well. By bedtime it was still looking bright.... so Justin puts them to bed and we hear banging about 9:15. Justin goes down and finds them dancing and gazing in the mirror at them selfs... smacking their lips.
😚😚😚😚😚😚😚😚😚😚😚😚

Young Womens this week- another Life Hack Night.
We taught the girls how to make soap and bathbombs.
It was a success!
