Spring Break

Ahhh...
A slow peaceful Spring break. Well the first three days were slow and peaceful.

Monday-Wednesday the kids and I just chilled. Spent sometime with Grandma and Grandpa Monday, finishing the movie Sandlot that we started Sunday, flew the new kite Grandma got and did some puzzles.

Tuesday we took the kids to Zootopia- which 1/2 liked and 1/2 were done about halfway through.

Wednesday we took it easy until I left for Utah with my SIL and MIL for 4 days and Daddy took over the fun.

Easter Saturday

The Easter Bunny always stopped by ours on the Saturday after Good Friday. A simple affair this year- but the kids were happy to see soccer shin pads and socks. They are sure excited to start at the end of this month :)

We helped Mom and Dad clean the church Saturday morning and as we were walking in Barker shot one of his new bullets on the church roof. Good thing for a big Sister who loves climbing and a Dad and Grandpa who tossed her up there :)

After the cleaning the Town had a Easter Egg hunt that Justin has taken the kids to every year. I have managed for the most part to miss it every year, but no such luck this time. Actually it was fine and the kids all had a good time, even though it started late and had lots of stalling.

Every age group had a turn and Remy, the baby by far cleaned house. Daddy took her to a spot with almost no kids and she just gathered candy and had a great time.

Easter weekend is always a great family time.

Good Friday

We had a excellent excellent Good Friday.
The Moxley's spent the day at the Miguels
coloring eggs, making a Birthday Cake, hiding eggs, using the sling shot for eggs, laughing and having a great ol' time.

Everyone arrived throughout the afternoon- but it stated with a Birthday Cake for Maren. Chocolate Cake batter and White Cake batter, then dyed the white into 4 color... we had good intentions but it didn't quite work it. Oh well, the idea was cute.

Next up- the yearling egg coloring. The cousins took shifts coloring eggs... to many cousins and eggs and potential spillage to do it all at once.

After the coloring the older cousins tried to school Aunt Heather in fashion choices. They tried to convince me that socks and sandals are cool- we spent 15 minutes arguing this horrid fashion choice and I maintain DONT DO IT.

The big cousins were kind enough to hide eggs in the backyard for the little ones to find. Always a highlight for the kids.

After the candy hunt, we brought the giant slingshot out and spent the next hour Egg "Rolling"

What a blast, the kids either spent the time using the sling shot, trying to catch the eggs, rolling the eggs down the hill (the super young ones) or like Remy, just rolling themselves down the hill.

The eggs went crazy high, and after Justin, Devin, James and Cyril tried to catch them in their bare hands, blankets, hats, and hoodies were used to catch the eggs. Let me say they were coming fast and hard.

Only missing 4 family members in this awesome Family Selfie.

Marens cake was the perfect end to the great day... that and a few more pictures and wrestling matches.

Easter countdown

Our countdown to Easter isn't very complicated this year. Scripture reading about the last week of Christs life and pictures counting down the days. Even so- Kalia can tell us about each picture and what it represents, Annaliesse can tell you about the parable of the 10 virgins, Barker loved  the story about Jesus cleansing the temple and Remy can say Jesus (Je Je).

Miscellaneous

I have fallen off the blog wagon. Not super sure I want to get started again. But here are a few pictures and things going on in the last couple weeks.

Justin got Barker a construction hat from work, Barker wears it pretty much constantly.

We put up some cute vinyl in the kids bathroom. Every time I look at it it makes me laugh.

Justin has been such a huge help these last couple weeks- when he is been home. I hurt my wrist, and it is slowed me way down. But with lots of help from Justin and my kids and mom and dad and friends things are still operating pretty smoothly. Justin even managed caramel popcorn for FHE treat.

Lindy got a haircut. Mom lost her patients after catching her sucking on her hair one too many times.

Kalia  wrote a little essay for when she's 100 years old. It was hilarious. Here it is.
