Kalia's Cake

We had Birthday Cake for Kalia on Sunday!
She wanted to wait and have cake with her cousins, so we celebrated at Remy's Blessing!

Thanks to my good friend Tania for making her Birthday Cake. Kalia asked for a turtle cake, and Tania did a great job!

Made some Zucchini Muffins this week. The girls refer to them as Cinnamon Muffins. They thought they were great!

Sunday naps are a staple.

He finds all sorts of ways to occupy his time while Remy nurses!

I shall call this her turtle picture.

1 month old

Its already been a MONTH!!

Holy Moly. This month has flown by- and we love baby Remy more and more each day!

You are growing so fast! You look different each week!

Remy is now 9 lbs 10 oz

She takes a soother and still gets the hick-ups ALL. THE. TIME.

She wakes up twice a night. 1:30 and 4:30. She has done a couple nights waking up just once, and a couple nights waking up every half hour.

She is generally a happy baby… well as happy as you can tell from a newborn.

Still wearing newborn size, not yet big enough for 0-3 month clothing yet.

She nurses fantastically! Our best eater AND sleeper.. she's a keeper!

Thanks for joining our family Remy! Love you!

Couple quilts…

Have I mentioned my obsession?

Quilting.

Its my own personal therapist. But how… you ask do you have time??
Luckily both little ones are on the same nap schedule, I usually have a hour- hour 1/2 of alone time.
Granted, I don't always get to quilt during that hour, but 3 times a week at least!

AND, lets be honest- some days when Annaliesse is home from school, I sew while her and Barker play. Granted- that sewing time is interrupted and takes me twice as long to do anything..

Anyways.

Here are the few I have done in the last month or so. I need to finish the backing on the black one and the grey one… but I need to wait until I can get the funds for the batting!

I finished this one, just days before I had Remy!

My girls lack the luster to hold them up!

I am super excited for the next quilt- using this fabric!

Happy 6th Birthday Kalia!!

Kalia 1 week old. Our first trip to High River!

Kalia One Year. A FHE trip to Henderson Lake, a couple months before we moved to Raymond!

Kalia Two Years Old. Eating her Ice Cream at her Birthday Party!

Three Years Old Now! Mommy taking a couple Pictures before Church!

Four Years Old! Making Bubble Snakes out of Pool Noodles- right after we moved to High River and Daddy started in Slave Lake.

Five! The older you get Kalia the harder it is to get a good picture of you smiling normal!
You are much to busy to stop and look at the camera for Mommy!
This shot is at Kayben Farms!

Kalia is 6!!
It is always bitter sweet looking through old photos, finding pictures. I remember bringing you home from the hospital, learning how to be a mom with you as my first. Kalia you are such sweet girl, and you always have been! You are getting so big and growing into such a big girl. We love you Kalia, and your family wouldn't be complete with out you!

For Kalia's 6th Birthday Daddy took the girls rock climbing!
Kalia loves the monkey bars and the climbing wall at the play ground- so a couple weeks ago, while Mommy was in the fabric store, Daddy took the kids to see the climbing wall.
After that Kalia has asked to go climbing constantly. We thought this would be the perfect time.

The girls had a great time! After rock climbing we went shopping, Grandma bought her a outfit and Mommy and Daddy got her a toy! It was a great day.
Thanks for being you Kalia!

DIY Weekend

Hello body. Its nice to have you back!!

Its nice to WANT to do things again!!! I want to craft agian. I want to sew… even more so the I did before. I want to make super, and bake for my kids!

This last weekend Justin taught me how to use a 12 inch Dual Compound Miter Saw.
Ya, how impressive does that sound?!

Side Note- Nobody ever wants to hold my hand. As a result this is how we walk through a parking lot.
Its like Daddy has his mini parade- wherever he goes!

So I (with lots of Justin help) have been busy cutting wood and getting boxes put together for our September Closet Crafters Night.

We are making this box and this star.  Its gonna be great.

Every Day is Mondays

Mondays are my crazy days.

Both girls have school. The house is a mess from the weekend. Laundry seems to have tripled over night. Usually some sort of grocery shop is needed. The 2 little ones are tired and grumpy from being up to late, and lack of naps over the weekend.

Last week, was like 5 days of Monday. Hard Mondays.

Kalia had a really really hard week. And for a emotional 5 year old- it means tears. Constant tears. Wednesday she came home bawling from the bus stop. Scared me half to death.

I am my room nursing Remy, Barker is laying beside me whining. And Kalia comes running up the stairs crying like her hair is on fire. Turns out, she is going to miss me too much, so she can't go to school.

Serious.

That was the reason for her massive meltdown at the bus stop. (Later talking to other moms from the bus stop, she ran away crying. They tried to help, but she just ran home, with poor Annaliesse running after her yelling "What happened??")

SO- Mommy have to finish nursing, get dressed, change 2 diapers, get the 2 little ones dressed. All while calming Kalia down. Everyone into the van, without Barkers car seat- that I thought Grandpa had in his car, drive to school. Get everyone out, talk to both teachers about what had happened. LUCILY Mrs. Muhle was super understanding and gave Kalia a hug right away, and told me it happens sometimes and she will take care of her.
Then  I got to chase laughing/screaming Barker down the school hallway, during O Canada, getting disapproving looks, and back into the van.

Thursday morning we walked her to the bus stop. The bus pulled up- she breaks down into tears. Luckily I convinced her to get on the bus, the driver hugged her and had her sit right behind him. He was so good with her. Then Friday she went to the bus stop by herself no problem. I think it is just going to take some time to adjust to Grade One, and just like everyone else, she has good days and harder days! :)

Annaliesse is busy ajusting too. Her emotions are just as outta wack as Kalia's. She comes home from school hyper, then gets mad over something silly, and tosses at least 3 fits before bed.

Barker has been grumping it up. He misses his sisters, he just lays around all day- or wants me to hold him or hold his cars. He whines till they get home, then once he gets a hug from them, wants NOTHING to do with them!!

Remy has been gassy. I need to figure out what I am eating she doesn't like!!

Mondays are not my favorite days. A week of Mondays was NOT FUN...

Four kids is waaay harder then three. In fact, I have been really annoyed at myself lately for not being on top of things. Then Justin and Lisa pointed something out to me. Four kids, five and under IS HARD.

So Yes I have had a week of Mondays and THATS OK.

BUT we are determined to have a normal week, next week.

If we have another week of MONDAYS… shoot me ;)

The kids LOVE Sunday Bike Rides with Daddy.
Maybe sometime before the snow, Mommy and Remy can come!!

I spend my days nursing one baby, while my other "baby" helps me hold her. It makes for a interesting feed.

Sundays mean Lego, Football, books, Salsa and Chips and all finished off with a Roast dinner.

Remy is a such a joy to have!

I love this stage. It is Justins favorite.
18 months- 3 years old.
My little two year insisted he napped in his gumboots.
Its so fun!!

Little Things

People tell us all the time what a cute kid Annaliesse is. She is cute. And she knows it.

She also makes me laugh on a daily basics.. Last week I said "Did you have fun playing at Kindergarden?"

Annaliesse says, "We didn't play at all. We learned ALL DAY! Well, we played outside three times. But Learned stuff All DAY!"

Mommy- "What did you learn"

Annaliesse "I dont remember."

HAHAHAHAHA

First Day of SCHOOL!!

"Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. " This song has been running through my head for weeks…. anyone else??

I have a confession.

When I used to hear parents talk about how excited they were for their kids to go back to school, I thought it was a little bit mean. Why would they not want to spend all day, everyday with their beautiful gifts from god.

I am older and wiser now. Or at least my kids are older. And this is the first year I have been looking forward to school starting. My poor Kalia has been so bored and in result, a little bit mean to her sibblings. And Annaliesse has been whining and oh so helpful, mostly really getting on my last nerve. So yes, this year I was SOOO excited to school to start. Excited for them to be busy, to learn and to become stimulated every day without spending time pouting in time out!!

Kalia is also very excited. She is in Mrs Mhule's class grade 1 class, she got to pick her own desk and ride the school bus home with her sister sometimes!

Annaliesse started Kindergarden!! She is in Mrs Pronchuks class, same as Kalia last year. She is so excited, talking about her teacher and how she gets to ride the bus!

The girls rode the bus home together on Annaliesse's first day. They thought it was Awsome… we will see how long that lasts!
