New room.

For Christmas the girls got a Bunk bed from Grandma and Grandpa.

G and G Chipman also had a wardrobe at their house they were not using, so the girls got that too.

We Justin put it all up last night..... until LATE. The girls woke up this morning in LOVE.

I can't believe A is on a Big Girl bed! I am also really happy with this toddler bunk. It is low enough for K and A is right on the floor.

All thats left now is to train A to STAY in bed at night!

Remember Remember Christmas in December.

Christmas Day.
So much to say.
Instead here are things we want to Remember.

- how things looked for the girls Christmas Morning 2010

-how excited they were to see if Santa had come and visited. They were running upstairs here to see if Santa drank his Milk and ate his Cookies.

- how sometimes pure joy is funny looking!

- how simple things in life, are so exciting.... like Princess Lip Balm

- A is our baby/barbie girl. Anything "doll like" she L.O.V.E.S. After each dolly was opened or discovered and each barbie de-package she would take 'em and had the whole stash by the end of the morning.

-the adorable Comet hoddies Aunt Lynette and Uncle Dale got the girls. And how right around Christmas time K seemed to grow up, using older vocabulary, reasoning and love.

-how excited the girls were to see and unwrap all those presents. Even some presents that were clearly not theirs!

-when hard work, stress, and LOVE goes into a present, how special it becomes. Justin, Mark and I did this CHIPMAN gift for Mom and Dad for Christmas, it was worth every pimple I got this season.

- even when there are toys galore my girls still want Momma to read with them.
And boy did the girls get a TON of books this year!

-how for dinner that night, A ate off Grandma's plate, but refused to let Grandma take a bite.
(how do i get this photo to rotate?)

-Most of all we want to remember how blessed we were this Christmas.
From drills to Project Life; from bunk beds to food storage; from dollies to books we had a great Christmas.

Day 24

Day 24
CHRISTMAS EVE!!

First things first. We had a slight miss hap with our last Letter "C" photo so we had to re-shoot it.
But more on that Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve we did our regular family traditions. We ate LOTS of dinner: wings, cheese ball, sausage, M&M asian food and lot more. We then opened our Christmas Jammies Grandma and Grandpa get us every year. Justin and Mark got super lucky and got Union Jammies.

We used to then just read the Christmas Story, but this year we acted it out. Which I think will happen from now on. K took the nativity very serious and was a beautiful Mary.

The above photo is Luke 2:7
"....and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

Ending the nativity with singing Silent Night.

Day 23

Day 23
Attend the Live Nativity in Calgary at Heritage Park.

(waiting for photo from Mark)

We headed up to High River to spend Christmas with the Chipman's. It was a fast moving day, with trying to pack everything needed and leave a clean house they day seemed to fly by. The drive was lovely after the girls fell asleep, Justin we even able to nap for a bit. It was a good thing too, once we got there we decided to head to the Nativity that night, rather then Christmas Eve. We got to Heritage at 6:50- I thought for sure we could make the first show, but the line up was CRAZY!!

Justin has been going to this nativity since he was a baby, (we have gone every year since we got married) and he couldn't believe the line up, and the amount of people there! It was fantastic to see so many people coming to see the Nativity. We only had to wait in line until the 7:30 show, it was cold but the girls had fun sliding down a little hill while we waited.

Once we got in and sat down, K and A were mesmerized. K asked questions through the whole thing, as I  whispered in 3 year old terms what was happening. A kept saying "Baby JeJe (Jesus)" it was such a special thing taking our girls to the nativity. I could tell they both felt the spirt and as we got back in the truck so K decided she wanted to do a "Mary and Jesus play", on the way home she decided who would play what.

K was Mary, and all A could do was shout "Me Baby JeJe, ME BABY JEJE". It was so adorable, Justin was Joseph, Aunt Laura the Angel, Uncle Mark a Wise Man and Mommy was a Shepard. Grandpa was to read out the story and Grandma was to direct and do costumes. K was very serious about the play and talked about it non stop for the rest of the night.

Day 22

Day 22
Visit Great Grandma's and Campbell's with homemade Chocolates!

Last night was went and stopped at Great Grandma Selman's and Great Grandma Chipman for a quick Merry Christmas. Grandma Chipman gave the girls their Christmas Present, because we wont be seeing her until AFTER Christmas. We let the girls open it in front of Grandma and they were so excited to get a puzzle! K has been loving puzzles lately and A likes to do it do. I always love Grandma Chipman's gifts, you can tell she used to be school teacher, all her gifts are learning oriented! I LOVE it!

We also stopped at the Campbell's to visit for a bit, and stayed WAY longer. It was great to see Sara and Ronnie, and Mrs. Campbell is a great host.

Thanks for a fun night everyone!

Day 21

Day 21

I know, we were SUPPOSE to do Ginger Gram-cracker Houses, but Daddy came home from work and said he needed to go BACk into Lethbridge to pick up the Mini Back Hoe. So our plans changed to Arbby's and Lights and Loading a Back Hoe.

I know sounds grand...... it was.

On another note: the girls watched Popcorn come out of a Popcorn Popper for the first time today!!

Ha ha. Look at A's face!

Day 20

Day 20
Drive around town and look at Christmas Lights!

The girls had a blast, we tried to do this last year, and it did not go well.
This year, the girls kept yelling, "Look More!!"

We even got LOTS accomplished today: sugar cookies, homemade chocolates, THE CARPET PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED, and the housed cleaned! I even finished my book!

I have always wanted to learn how to make Chocolates, my Mother-in-law makes F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C chocolates! So when Lisa went to a class, she set out on a mission- After a few test batches she got it right, so last week she showed me how to make fondant and I dipped them today.
If all goes as planned I will hopefully make more tomorrow on my own, we shall see how tomorrow goes!

Oh and another little memory to remember today-
I sent the girls downstairs, by themselves, to clean the basement. I told them as soon as it was done they could play with playdough.... 2.5 hours later they were still "working on it".
The basement was messy then ever, but they played ALL morning together, laughing and pretending to "clean like mommy". Oh well, so as Mommy is blogging- Daddy is watching the Hockey game and helping the girls tidy the basement!

Tomorrow we are on to Cheese Balls, more chocolates, visiting teaching, laundry, MAYBE gingerbread houses (minus the ginger) and possibly sewing a couple Christmas Dresses for the girls!

Day 18

Day 18
Daddy Daughter Shopping Time

Every year Justin takes part of a Saturday to go out and do some Christmas Shopping with just him and the girls. I LOVE this day. Justin and the girls headed out at 3:00 just after naps, and got home at 8:00. The girls really enjoy this special time with Daddy, this year K told me all about the ice cream and candy they ate!

Day 17

First... honestly, I am running out of time for postings!
We are still doing count down activities, but I am not always getting photos, or having time to blog about them. So bear with me!

Day 17
Attend our Ward Christmas Party!

This year the Ward did a Ham dinner with a Small Program after, followed by a Ward Family Picture, Santa coming to visit and Hay Rides!

The girls had a great time, hardly ate anything, but played lots. I think K sat beside me at the very start, then she was off making friends and being a big girl sitting in front. A of course would not leave Dad's side. The little boy sitting next to A at the dinner table was adorable, he was sharing all the crayons with her, and he couldn't resist swishing and rubbing her cheeks every so often!

It was so funny, K went and sat on Santa's lap and got a treat bag, so A knowing she wanted one ran right up to santa.... then Santa touched her. Oh well, K was the same last year!

December 17, 2010

Day 16

Day 16
Attend the Raymond Elementary Christmas Concert!

(sorry no photo, I was too busy wrangling 3 wiggling children)

And.... another note.

Remember that Chicken I made last Sunday??
And how I made 3 MEALS out it!!

Well.... we still had a enough chicken to make 1 MORE meal.

So yesterday I finished it off with Kim Hardy's

Thanksgiving Casserole
layer the following ingredients in order in your casserole dish:

1 box prepared stuffing or leftover stuffing
leftover or frozen veggies
leftover diced chicken or turkey!!
blobs of cranberry sauce (having a picky husband I omit this ingredient)
gravy
salt and pepper
mashed potatoes
heat in oven covered @ 350 -till bubbly or heated though!

Day 15

Day 15

Got the idea here

Eventually..... tomorrow possibly, if the THICK first handprint of A's is ever dry- then we will put a star on it.

Day 13 AND 14

Day 13 and Day 14.
Make and EAT Caramels!

I know.... kinda weenie. And no pictures either.

Oh well.... But to help with visualization....

I am eating them now... and they are soooo goood.

Happy 2nd Birthday A!

Happy Birthday A!
(and Day 12)
A was born December 12, 2008 and has been a bundle of blond fun for the last 2 years!
Posted by Picasa

We had a little Birthday celebration with Oreo Cupcakes and Ice cream for her!
She is such a good and kissable baby (well not baby anymore!)
Here are some fun facts about A right now:
  • She LOVES her tongue and has a dripping wet mouth and chin because of it.
  • Oranges are her favourite fruit.
  • She insists on sitting on the potty F.O.R.E.V.E.R. (its getting old)
  • Wawa (water) is her favorite drink
  • She drags around at least 2 blankets all day
  • ANYTHING baby she loves. She will rock them, sing to them, shh them to sleep, make me wrap them up at least 50 times everyday, and sleep with at least 2.
  • She eats pretty much anything... even when mommy serves super spicy chili!
  • She will cry when she goes down for naps but falls asleep super fast and is out cold.
  • Her favourite cereal is Corn Pops and snack is fee fee (cheese fish)
She is such a good little sister too, she loves K and lets her boss her around ALL day. With only a few minor scuffles, usually because K tries to touch her babies.

Even though Christmas is just days away she got super spoiled. Daddy built her a crib and we also got her a bundle of Mr. Potato Heads. From family she raked in the goods: a magna doodle, cash register set, 2 dollies, 2 puppets, a my little pony, a new shirt, pop kids AND a barbie tea set. Thanks for all who attended, it was a fun night with family!

Day 11

Day 11
Make Homemade Wrapping Paper.

I actually had the CUTEST idea for this.... until we started then I remembered that 2 and 3 year olds have a imagination all of their own!

So they painted "all myself".

Then dad came in from building A's Birthday Present and suggested they paint themselves for wrapping paper.... so dad did cleanup!

December 10, 2010

Day 10

Day Ten
Fun Christmas Family Activity!

Tonight Roach Studios put on a little Christmas Production called Jingle Bell Jukebox.

It is a play done by 3-13 year olds and it was great!

The girls LOVED it. K danced along to EVERY number, and she clapped and cheered.

A danced to and yelled "YEAH". I am so happy we went, K will be talking about it for days!

On the way home K asked if she could dance in the show next time.... I guess we'll see!

Scarfs

Scarfs.
Ya know when you make something, its so ugly it's cute?!?

Well I saw this scarf and thought there's the answer to K's prayers. SHe has been begging me to buy her a scarf, she's DYING to have one.

Honestly I had no intention of buying on considering she would wear it twice then never again. So when I saw the scarf made out of T shirts and fleece, knowing I still had piles from my first T shirt project, I whipped one together.

Here is K's T shirt Scarf...

Here's A's scarf, I made her scarf 7 inches wide instead of 10, it seems to fit better!

For the scarfs being made out of T shirts and extra fleece, they are pretty cute!

December 9, 2010

Day 9

Day 9
Read Christmas Stories.

The girls LOVE books, and I so wish we had a few more Christmas ones to choose from but for now we just have 3. We How the Grinch Stole Christmas, My first Nativity Book and The Usboune Christmas Story Jigsaw Book.
I LOVE this photo, the girls were so excited to read Christmas Stories before bed!

I think in January I am going to start ordering a Christmas book once a month- so next year we can do something like what Jocelyn did in 2009. Read a story everyday and then do a craft along with it!

I know not a great photo.... but hey its us.
Scripture of the Day

"Therefore, whatsoever ye shall do, ye shall do it in my name; therefore ye shall call the church in my name; and ye shall call upon the Father in my name that he will bless the church for my sake."

3 Nephi 27:7

December 8, 2010

Day 8

Day 8
Write Letters to Santa.

We waited till Dad got home to write the letters, and because K and A went to play at Aunt Dianne's house in the afternoon.... more about that later....

The girls were happy to write to Santa.

K has been asking for a Big Dollie and A just yells "BABY" at me. So at least we know what to get em! Even though I am not sure this household can handle any more dolls, but whatever.

It took me over 10 shots of K just to get this..... and this is A's 2nd photo. Regardless these photos are just like the girls... K is mischievous and A wears her feeling on her face.

Ok.. so WHY were the girls at Aunt Dianne's all afternoon??

Thats paint. 3 year old style.

The T.V Monday and carpet on Wednesday.
I was in the bathroom..... can I not pee in peace?!?!?
The girls went over to play with Dianne while mommy cleaned carpet and gather her wits.... again!

The paint has not all come up, but we are hoping another shampoo might help.
PLEASE tell me this doesn't last FOREVER... cause it's getting expensive!

December 7, 2010

Day 7

Day 7
Make a Christmas Treat!

Ok. I admit- I had something else planed for this, but when I saw Donna's blog post about Christmas Trees I changed!

We made Rice Crispy Tree's. The girls were so excited... mostly because whenever marshmallow's and M&M's get them in a frenzy.

A got really into it, her concentration look is adorable!
Her lips puckered in thought!

I appreciate the difference in their tree's. A looks like something Justin would do, particular and precise. K is like me, just slap it on, and eat it!
Some how as I was shaping the tree's K M&M's got wet... like really wet. Any ways she just kinda dumped them on top and was done. She is getting really hard to please, and we did this treat/craft for her.... whatever.

It was still fun and the girls are excited to show dad the pictures!

Scripture of the Day

"And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah."
