Snapshots

Lots of Snapshots this week.

Justin and I have been painting the girls bedroom this week. Every night, after the kids are in bed we work on it, I have also had a few hours durning a couple days to paint. Its almost done- should have their room finished and put back together by Friday Night.

There is a new connivence store in town, they sell Foothills Ice Cream. Wednesday afternoon we took time out of our day to have some Ice cream and chatting.

Remy and Mommy made bread this week to. Isn't she darling

For Young Womens we had Life Hack Night. The girls learned how to paint a room from start to finish- to round out our evening we got Ice Cream!

Dropped Popsicles is so sad.

Selfies when your 9.

HRCC Festival

High River Children's Choir preformed at Festival last night!
They did so great.

The choir preformed 3 numbers, Little Brown Bugs, Thats How it Always Goes, and Thunder and Lightening. They did really good for the first year of our little choir. We have 17 kids ranging from 6-10. They were so fun to watch last night.

Spitz, Party, Lacrosse, and a Broadcast

Saturday.
Day of a million things.
We started off the day early,  me folding a butt ton of laundry, Justin filling holes in the girls room, and the kids cleaning the kitchen.

Next- onto Raymond for Grandma's 79th Birthday.
We also passed on a family thing....
eating spitz.
Justin and I were enjoying some cracked pepper spitz and for some reason or another Justin agreed to let the kids have some.
Pretty soon the whole van had a Spit bottle and ate Spitz all the way down.
Turns out Remy is WAY to young to have Spitz. FYI

We had time to stop and see Grandma Chipman briefly but she was very busy worrying about her Tea Party luncheon. Important thing is we stopped by to say HI, to let her know we Love her.

Grandma Martins birthday was a simple affair with Martin Flare.

A few of us brought down Quilts Grandma made to display :)
She has made some amazing stuff.
A few musical numbers for Grandma's delight.
My girls sang two of their festival numbers for Grandma.

The grandkids sang I love to see the Temple for Grandma.
Luckily Aunt Lisa saw Barker trying to slink away but managed to grab him by the ankle and drag him up to participate.

There were lots of people there to show Grandma how much she is loved.
Tons of food. Good snack food, cause thats how we roll.
A quick pic before we dashed off to Lacrosse.

Justin took Annaliesse into Okotoks for Lacrosse with the 2 younger ones.
But first he dropped Kalia and I off so we could go watch the General WOmens Broadcast.

Hopefully next time Annaliesse can join us :)
It was such a crazy day we finally fed the kids about 7:30.
Subway sandwiches to end our day.
Our great day, spent with family.

First FirePit of the Season

Friday night Heather Lawlor called and said lets have a fire!
The weather was lovely.
Kids could use some more fresh air...

Our first Hot Dog roast of the year was a complete success. The kids ate 2 each with is double then last year. A dozen Hot Dogs and buns later we got out the Mellos.

Poor Remy had to pee about 6:10, none of the bathrooms were open and she refuses to pee outside. She held her pee for 45 minutes. That little one has a bladder of steel. Which is great for us.

We are loving the nice weather lately!!

Snapshots

Sore throats and coughs are the norm around here this week.
So that means lots of hot Herbal Tea and crocheting.

In fact so much sitting and feeling like crap I got Kalia's hat done.
She loves it. Which is really nice cause I thought I would make it and she would never wear it. Great news she has hardly taken it off.
I am going to make one for Annaliesse now- the Owl hat I made her is slightly small for her... I forgot how big her head is.

Thursday these 2 begged me to play with sand alive. I gave in.
But as 1 parent to another- DONT BUY IT.
It is such a freaking messy toy.

We also played with Lego!

Woman Wednesdays

Recently Lauren and I decided to skip Cleaning- Errands -Paperwork Mommy Responsibilities on Wednesdays.

For the last 2 weeks we escaped to the city for the morning.

Last week Ikea and Church Distribution Centre.

Today a sale at MISH, a art exhibit, lunch and the Lego Store.

We happened to run into Joci and her sister Carly at MISH and we all had a great time trying on clothing, while the kids played. I even ended up purchasing a few items, which RARELY happens. I hate shopping. Then over to see Emma's Art Piece "GLOW" in the Calgary People's Portrait Prize Exhibit. There were some amazing pieces, but if you ask me #66 entitled GLOW is amazing. :)
Lunch at the mall and then the Lego Store.... where we might have stood at the Lego Man Bin for like 15 minutes laughing and making hilarious people.

It may not happen EXACTLY every week. But it needs to happen often cause its awesome.

We also need a snappy name for these awesome Wednesdays.

Impromptu FHE

Last night for Family Home Evening we took the kids into the city to see Beauty and the Beast!! The movie was so fantastic. Like amazing. Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen and Luke Evans. Come on, talk about a movie of stars!! It was so good. Which is such a relief cause the live action Cinderella was such a disappointment.

It started at 7:30 pm - which is bedtime around here.

I admit 5 years ago- even 2 years ago I would have never suggested it. Taking Barker out past his bedtime 5 or 2 years ago would have been a laughing joke of a nightmare. Same with the big girls- but we have Remy as a little one now. She is amazing. Like always happy- I kid you not. She is rarely RARELY in a bad mood. Always kind and sweet and roundabout PHENOMENAL.

Its crazy how much our kids have grown.

Anyways, I called Justin at about 3:00 and asked if he would be on board with taking the Kids to Beauty and The Beast for Family Home Evening. He was a bit hesitant but agreed. Which made me so excited. I called Mom to see if Dad was busy tonight and to see if she wanted to come with me. She was so on board.

I ordered tickets on line and into the city we went!! Kalia and Barker started coughing like crazy on the way in- which they had NOT been doing all afternoon. SO that was a bit frusterating. Quick stop at Shoppers for cough drops then onto the movie!!

The kids were so good! The movie was SO GOOD.

Each kid EXCEPT Remy had to pee at least once.
Remy spilt one of the 2 pops we had for the kids to share, right under my feet, so I got to sit cross legged the enitre movie AND make sure she didn't step or sit in in.
Kalia ate like 6 cough drops.
Annaliesse was mad she had to sit at the end- she felt like Kalia had all the pop access.
Barker sat by Justin, I have no idea how he was.

But with 4 kids past their bedtime, coughing, at a movie. They did exceptionally well..

We got in the van at 9:50pm. Mom and Justin were ragging me a bit on how hard the next morning and day was going to be with super grumpy kids. I felt they were going to be just fine. Got home by 10:30. Kids were all sleeping.

Its now Tuesday- we all slept in this morning. I drove Kalia and Annaliesse to school cause I let them all sleep until the woke up  (7:45). They got to school 10 minutes late and then the littles went to playgroup. I had a lovely relaxing morning at home crocheting Kalia's hat she has begged for. Picked up the kids and fed them lunch-Barker has been napping since 12:30 pm- its 3:05 pm. Remy got put down for a nap but didn't sleep but has been in a fantastic mood all day. Just like usual. :) I haven't seen Kalia or Annaliesse again yet.

I would totally do it all over again! Sometimes impromptu FHE are the best :)

No plans Saturday

No plans Saturday.

It really just means we are going to tackle something on the back burner and neither one of us wants to admit it. Before we started anything it was our turn to clean the church building, got it done early to have the rest of the day. Lucky for us Mom joined us to be a extra adult hand!

Got it done fast and Grandma decided to take the kids to the dollar store to spend 5$ each. The kids were in heaven and Justin managed to sneak in candy of his own.. Mommy just followed everyone around trying to convince all not to just spend 5$ on candy.

Once the kids were all sugared up and service was completed we tackled the girls bedroom.

It. Was. Gross.

We cleaned out the whole thing, put their bunk beds back together- after cutting it down a bit- a quick trip to Ikea for a shelf or 2- and then put the shelfs together. All this in prep for NEXT week when the Young Women come over for a Life Hack Night. Life Hack #1 How to prep and paint a wall! The YW are going to learn all about it on Kalia and Annaliesse's room.

The room is cleaned and sorted and ready to be moved out in a few weeks. The girls are so looking forward to having their room painted. Lets hope it goes well :)

After all this we had a very late dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. The kids were wired- SO FREAKING HYPER- so Grandma sat down and watched SING with them while we made dinner. Can I just say- this Momma is so grateful BBQ season is back. Dinners can be so fast- meat on the BBQ, potatoes in the microwave or rice in the cooker or tatertots in the over, or veggies cut up, then put a salad together and VOLA a fast late dinner.

Snapshots

Remy carefully sorted these Lego Blocks into colour groups and spent a couple hours building towers. They fell down multiple times and each time she carefully resorted the colours and rebuilt the towers. Then she wanted to take a picture of her towers, so she moved all the other lego out of the picture area, and anything else that was in the way- for a clear pic.

A few weeks ago I went to a Relief Society Service Auction. One of the services I bid on and won was a free basic Haircut. Kalia has been needing a trim like noonesbusiness. So on Monday she got a trim in our kitchen by lovely Sue Burwash. Thanks Sue!

Wednesday morning Remy and I went into the city with Blake, Lauren and Ray. A stop at the distribution centre and Ikea- its always funner to do errands with friends- laughing and chatting the morning away. Remy got a new LACK table for her kitchen wares from Ikea, Lauren scored a sweet new wicker basket and Mommy got some great garments. I couldn't screw the screws in for the legs, she she played with this for the afternoon until Daddy got home and built it for her.

Wednesday afternoon it was +16!! So freaking warm!!! We took Remy and Ray to the park for a couple hours and when the girls got home everyone headed outside to play the afternoon away. Spring means a backyard full of kids, bikes all over the lawn and mud EVERYWHERE.

Springs also means scooters, ramps and helmets are back.

On a random note. I was browsing the Hobby section at the bookstore, and came across this book.
Seriously??? Seriously- I cant find a book on modern quilts at the bookstore but they have THIS?!?!

Toilet Roll Trolls

We did some crafting Tuesday. I worked on a craft night demo and Remy worked on turning some toilet paper rolls into Trolls. Barker was also in on the painting but he is a boy and grew tired of the crafting quickly.

I got my demo done and Barker moved on to play outside. Remy just kept on painting. Very very carefully painting.

I had to move on to other things, she just kept painting.

Girls got home and she was just about finished... almost 2 hours later. There was paint every where!!! But she was so happy about it.. Paint on her toes, the chair, the counter and the floor.
She took a little break after that, she needed a snack.

Also want to know how I learned she can wash her hands on her own?!?! See below pic! IF she can wash her foot and both hands at the same time she can wash her hands!!

After her little rest she sorted feathers by colour and eyes by colour and we added hair and eyes. She is so proud of her little project!

Saturday/Sunday Moxleys

Sometime I don't blog things because they seem so mundane. Or because its not anything different then any other time.  Im gonna try and blog the mundane anyways... its mundane to me.
But maybe not to the kids in a few years.

Saturday we got together with the Uncle Cyril and Aunt Karla and kids and Aunt Sherilyn and kids, and Grandma. Justin and the kids met them all at the church to spend a afternoon playing sports. Lacrosse and Basketball. The three youngest spent time with Mateya who is such a amazing niece. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate her and Jaidyn. They are such good girls who play with little cousins.

I showed up late, I was helping at soccer registration for the afternoon. I managed to get to the church for just the end of the afternoon. As were were sitting around the stage chatting, we noted how nice it was that they are getting old enough to play sports and interact with the adults! We all headed over to our house for a BBQ dinner. BYOB. Nothing like a family dinner to end a busy Saturday. Chill dinner and great company. Thanks guys!

Sunday was Moxley Family Dinner Day to! After church we headed into the city for another great dinner with family. We do this once a month now, usually the second Sunday. Grandma Moxley decided last Summer that we were going to start monthly dinners and it has been awesome every month. This month we were lucky to have Uncle Jeff and Marion and Cassandra join us for dinner!

A rocking dinner of Lasagne, made 3 by three different peoples- great fun to taste them all and blab about who's is better :) The kids were particularly crazy this week. Lots of screaming and wrestling.

Karla made cupcakes with the fabulous icing that we have put into circulation in the last couple years. I can't recall when exactly I started making it- but Karla and I use it often :)
It is the yummiest easiest non-icing icing you will ever make.

NON-ICING ICING
1 container Cool Whip
1 pkg (4 serving) vanilla pudding OR chocolate pudding for chocolate icing
1 cup milk

Mix pudding and milk. Fold in cool whip. Put in Large Freezer bag. Cool in fridge. Pipe on top of cupcakes. Serve immediately- do not ICE until ready to eat!

This icing is a total hit. You should try it and tell me if you liked it.
