Snapshots

Normal Monday morning. Mommy folding laundry and Remy insisting on being the middle of it all.

It was 13 degrees on Monday afternoon! We headed out about 1:45pm and biked for a bit and hit the park. We were able to get some quality time outside Monday and Tuesday this week before the snow hit again.

Barker and I are looking forward to spring and summer... gonna bike around like crazymohawkmen.

This little lady doing her home reading. I saw a older girl, 12-13 years old, wearing the same coat as Kalia wears. It crazy how fast she is growing up.

Justin loves me and helps me with craft night figuring... morning date at home depot.

Near the end of the week, Remy got her 18 month shots... which resulted in days of holding, snuggling and napping.

House Update

He moved on to painting!!
The upstairs trim is all painted and done. Thanks for letting us borrow your paint sprayer Gary!!

A inspiration photo for Remy's room. Although now we are not sure- we did a bold paint and deco choice in Barkers room, and now Justin feels we need to do more then just white paint in Remy's room.

Back splash has been discusses numerous times. He wants white subway tiles... I want grey marble.

We are getting closer!! We are aiming for middle of April move in still... so in 6-8 weeks.

Chili, Glue and Magformers.

Our day didn't start out super fantastic.
Remy was dancing and she took on the wall. The wall totally won.
IT looked really deep- like it would need stitches,  so I took them all to the ER. But after waiting 50 mins, with 4 people still in front of us, and had not even seeing a nurse, I figured even if she did need stitches it would be to late by the time anyone saw us.

We headed home and Justin glued it shut.
The rest of the day went much smoother. Justin and the kids played with Magformers we got after our Science centre visit. Everytime we visit the Science centre, Barker and I play for quite awhile at the Magformers table- I thought it was about time we got this awesome toy to play with at home!

They are sooo fun! I bought 62, and we will most likely be adding to our awesome new toy collection! We also had another awesome family nap.

While Justin was holding a grumpy Remy and playing with the kids, I got started on our Chili for the Ward Chili Cookoff that night!

While the chili was simmering and we were getting ready to go, Barker got a owie- and he says to me "I think my bones got broke!" Oh the drama!!

Everyone who enters gets a chocolate dipped spoon- one year I will get a lick before it gets devoured by these 2!

AND THEN it turns out I WON the High River Ward Chili Cookoff!! Last year I got the hottest Chili award- so this year I toned it way down.

Whoot Whoot!! Watch for my awesome Trophy being displayed for the next year in our house!!

See my name!! Right next to D. Chipman! Keeping it in the family!

Reading Week cousins

Its so nice when you have cousins to play with.
Jen and her kids and Dianne and James came up for 2 1/2 days during Reading Week.
ITs a bummer we don't live closer, to play more often. But we both make a effort to schedule play time, and our kids play sooo well together, its like a break!

Wednesday we took the kids to the Spark Science Centre. As always we played the day away and had a great time.

Tale as Old as Time

Last week the girls and I went to Disney's Beauty and the Beast ~The Smash Hit Broadway Musical~

Grandma bought 7 tickets for all the girls in the family, then they went and booked a week away in California for the same time! On accident of course, but totally bummer.

It was so so so fantastic, the girls loved it.

They kept asking if they were up past bedtime- they thought it was pretty special that the show didn't even start till after bedtime. And this fact was mentioned time and time and time again, all evening.

Annaliesse's favorite part was when Belle came out in her yellow dress, and then again at the end in the yellow dress with a pink sash. Kalia loved the first part when they sang "Belle" the song will Belle reading her book.

They both really liked Gaston too, he was fun and entertaining with his muscles and hilarious lines.
And thank goodness for Aunt Laura who was a huge help. Annaliesse was pretty tired and spend most of the play on a lap. With Aunt Laura helping the girls were able to go in 2 different directions and see all they wanted.

Mark and Lindsay drove up for the occasion, made it with a few mintues to spare and took off right after for a long drive home.

Special Thanks to Aunt Jen and Aunt Dianne who had come up to spend a few days playing durning reading week! They watched the 2 little ones- for the most part. Justin did have to come home and take Remy, who bawled for half a hour, but thanks for trying!

Thanks again Grandma for the tickets!! Wish you were there!

Remy dancing at 18 months old. I may be slightly bias.... but she's so flipping fantastic.

Remy is in NURSERY!

Guess who went to Nursery on Sunday!! Remy did Awesome (for our family) only cried on and off occasionally! Mommy and Daddy are busy teaching the last block, and with Grandma and Grandpa out of town, she had no choice but to be in nursery.

Can you believe she is old enough for Nursery!! She brought home a paper and she was rather happy with it! Showing Daddy and her siblings.

This is the last time we will have to be doing this, hopefully it will go a bit smoother and she will grow out of tears quickly!!

Saturday

Saturday morning, Justin drove Mom and Dad to the airport, bright and early, at 6:00 am.
The original plan was to meet him back in Calgary, have breakfast and go swimming.
Change of plans.

Barker jumped off the couch, the morning before, and hit his head so hard, I am sure gave himself a concussion. He spent the rest of the day, napping, being held or crying. We didn't think swimming, would go over so well- instead we spent the morning couch shopping!

Justin had planned on going over and working, but it was sooo nice outside and we were all sooo tired. We took a looong family nap then spent the rest of the day biking, taking cardboard back, bottle dept and a quick grocery shop.

Finished the day off with a family game of Life and baths! A whole day with Dad was just what we needed.

High River Parent Link

Some days in the middle of winter, you just need OUT.
The kids need new toys to play with, Mom needs someone to visit with and everyone needs a change of scene. Thanks to the Parent Link Center, we were able to get out!

Four years ago, the kids and I often visited the Parent Link Centre in Raymond. But we never got in the habit up here.  To be honest, it wont happen all the time, but it is fun, once in a while,  for a change of pace!

Remy and Barker both liked the frog on a box, putting food in his mouth... I might have to make one at home!

We even got to take Otto and Atlas with us for the morning! They are such good boys, they played soooo well! My 2 took the majority of the attention, being grumpy and whining and the Court boys just played!!
