Quilt List

Trying to start a new quilt.... having 2 problems.
1. Sick kids. Remy has been sick for a week- super super sick. Lost 5 lbs sick.
2. What to pattern to choose.

Been looking everywhere and its down to about 3 different designs. The last quilt I finished, the Christmas Log Cabin Quilt, I LOVED. Like UBER LOVE. Its the first quilt we have had on our bed that I made- it makes it all the more real that I can quilt, ( and maybe call myself a quilter), when we sleep under it every night. SO I am going to make another quilt for our bed, and keep our Christmas Log Cabin Quilt for Christmas LOL

My top 3 for the next project are as follows

Half Square Triangle Quilt Oh my heavens. The scrappy look of this quilt makes my heart flutter!! One my fav quilts I made is all scraps...
Scrappy Log Cabin I am unsure about how much light fabric available I my stash to really do this justice.
Take Flight Quilt  (I have sewn one for my parents that is very similar, and this time I will trim it differently!)

BONUS
Christmas Tomte the pattern is for a super small lap quilt, but I would make it bigger, a twin Christmas quilt for Barker or Remy.

Thoughts Anyone?!?!?

Anyways looking back at the quilts made over the years... I realized it would be really nice to have it all in one post so I don't have to scroll through 50 posts about sewing. 😉
Some of the pictures are terrible, and I am missing about 3 or 4 I have done but have no pictures... whoops.

PD Ski Day.

PD day Friday!!! We planned on Skiing with Justin family, Remy and I stayed home she was still puking, so Justin took the other 3 and Kalia's friend Austin. They had a great time like always, and the things they are learning from the slopes are invaluable.

They went to the top of the mountain this time, and Barker even did the jumps. Justin was so happy with how well they all did.

Sick Baby

Wednesday Remy got hit with a Tummy Bug.
3 days for barfing, napping and holding. Poor kid.
Remy was sick for 10 days and lost 5 lbs. She is finally over it but gaunt and exhausted for another week.
Barker has been a handful lately. Tossing a fit over every little thing and crying over nothing. He fell asleep Wednesday almost as soon as he got home from school.

New Sports

We got home from Florida and Kalia started Grade 5 Basketball! She plays games on Tuesdays right after school and practices Wednesdays right after school. She is really enjoying herself, but to be honest she likes any sport she is currently playing. LOL

She and I had a run in about spring sports but she came around. Basketball now and Soccer in the Spring.

Annaliesse and I also had a run in about Spring Sports... see there is a problem this year. I can NOT miss YW to take her into the city on Wednesdays for Lacrosse. Like ever. Lacrosse is just going to be do hard this year, because of scheduling. Looking for a new sport for her was a bit rough, but she LOVES swimming and water polo seemed like a good fit. Its to bad it ends in April, but she can play all year next year and play soccer in the spring too.

She had her first practice Tuesday and had a great time. She put a belt on half way through, she can swim well enough, but the laps they do to warm up are insane, it was rather exhausting.  HAHAHA She Took to it right away. Yes she was tired, and yes it is going to be hard to do pick up on Wednesdays- but the middle child sometimes needs special treatment. Kalia wants to do it so bad, but I put my foot down, Kalia is playing ball and she does lots of things without Annaliesse, Annaliesse can do things by herself too.

Barker is still playing Basketball, and he will start Lacrosse and Soccer in the spring. He feeds off the physical activity!! Plus it sometimes prevents him from jumping over other peoples children with his scooter....

Grade 5 electric cars

Kalia's Grade 5 class has been working on Electric Cars this week! I was able to go in Monday and Tuesday to help the class get them set up. Kalia and her partner Austin got there car put together rather quickly but the batteries I brought for them were both dead!

The batteries went in Tuesday and the car ran great. It ran relatively straight and they were both so proud of it. LOL

Kalia loves having Remy in her class to "help" with Mom. Her class loves it it, they all like Remy- its like a treat when she comes in and heaven help me when I show up without her.

2014 Snapshots

I found this picture the other day on Moms computer and I don't recall seeing it.
Every stage of Life is beautiful but I will always miss this stage. Our last baby, and kids who only went to school a few hours a week.

Motherhood is so fulfilling- my heart is full of love for these people.

This picture of Justin and I, Fall of 2014 is a favourite of ours. The smiling pictures are nice, but I quite enjoy his smirk in this one.

Barbie Baths

Since we have been home, Remy has spent half her time in the Bathroom.

Why?

Bathing her Barbies of course.

She is so careful~ there is hardly any water, but there are wet towels everywhere.

😏😍😍

Rough Start Sun-Tue

We had a bit of a rough start back this week.... hahaha.
Monday we had the worst case of Mondays, like ever.
Did you know if you try to whip Milk it just bubbles every where? I bought a small thing of 2% Milk rather then whipping cream....

Barker drew this excellent drawing, with screams coming out of the windows 😂😂

Poor Justin he came home from work Tuesday and crashed on our bed.

Frist 3 days were rough, but look at the delightful picture from Disney I put together!

Plane Home

We didn't check out of the VRBO until 10 am this morning. Which is plenty of time for the kids to spend a bit more time in the pool. They were in the pool by 6:45 am Florida time, which is 4:45 am Alberta time.....😐

We had one layover on the way home. Which wasn't to bad, except we almost lost a suitcase, not the airlines fault. Our fault for letting a kid pull it and then leave it in a hallway. By the time we realized and Justin ran back for it, a security officer was standing with it. Justin ran up goes "sorry kid left it, have to run for my plane" and he ran off. Whoops. LOL

We had lots more room on the last flight home, a seat in between Justin and I for Remy. She didn't really sit it in- she sat on the floor and played Barbies and for a while played Barbies with Arlie on the floor too.

Remy, Barker and Kalia fell asleep near the end. It was a long flight and we didn't get into Calgary until 10 pm AB time. Since they were up 4:45 am AB time- ti was a LOOOONG day for them.

The kids traveled really well. Barker had him moments, but after hearing a baby cry for 2 hours on the way home, he wasn't terrible. LOL

Universal Studios- Day 06

Universal Studios!!!
This was the second morning we managed to get our of the house earlish!
Come to find out the park hours at universal are 9am-7pm, we would have liked the hours to be longer. We all loved Universal Studios.

The morning did start off a bit rough, we had a grumpy Bobby and a grumpy Mommy, but we got over it pretty quickly. Biggest problem of today was that Barker couldn't ride a couple rides. It doesn't seem like such a big deal, eh? Considering it was only like 5 rides, but each time those 5 rides happened we had a upset little boy.

We split up again as we entered this park- Justin and the kids headed right to Despicable Me- I didn't want to start the day feeling nauseous and light headed so I was just waiting. We did this one right off the bat, the line was only 25 minutes and it was only going to get longer. I just wondered around getting a bit more familiar, then a staffer let us know there is a  have a non moving part of the ride-

So I joined them at the end of the line up and got to do the ride with them! Pretty sweet Glasses eh!

The Transformers ride was right around the corner so we headed there next. Grandma and Grandpa joined them, they had tried to go before hand but Dad couldn't take his backpack in so he stayed out. This time I stayed out and let Dad go with Mom and Justin and the kids. I watched the bags. They came out of the ride PUMPED. They all loved it!! It was kinda fun sitting outside the exit most people, kids especially, came out with grins and chatting about how fun it was. Barker thought the head getting chopped off was awesome.

We really tried to fit in as many rides as we could first thing. Right after Transformers Justin, Grandma, Kalia and Annaliesse booked it over to Revenge of the Mummy. Barker, Remy, Grandpa and I headed over to do ET Adventure and Fievels Playland. Both of which were lame... LOL but don't tell Barker, Grandpa and I tried our darnest to be upbeat about it.

Annaliesse, Kalia, Justin and Grandma had a great time at The Mummy. It was jumpy scary, things jump out at you and Annaliesse, screamed- a lot.

FINALLY it was time to head over to DIAGON ALLEY. We met everyone for lunch and for some Butterbeer! Which was amazing!!! Annaliesse got her souvenir, a wand!!! She was so excited- we didn't get a chance to do Olivanders, the line up was just to long, and there was no way we were going to make the rest of the kids wait a hour. So she got one from a little vender by the Butterbeer place. Barker had a very hard time with this.... VERY HARD. Tears and tears and more tears.

Justin was done with Diangon Ally in record time. Surprise Surprise. Grandma decided to d0 Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts with the older girls, in the single rider line. Annaliesse liked the computer screen that they watched before they went in. Barker wasn't tall enough and instead of leaving him mad with me Justin stayed off and right then it started to rain! We had a Simi covered spot to wait in, then as it let up we dashed off to Springfield: Home of the Simpsons for Justin and the 2 littles to do The Simpson Ride while we waiting for Gma and the girls. It rained again on the they way. While Justin and the littles were doing Simpsons, Grandpa and were waiting Gpa decided to try his hand at a Carnival Game. The one where you shoot basketballs and try and get 2 outta 3 or something. Anyways Grandpa won a Basketball and Giant Stuffy he promptly gave to Remy..... we had to carry that stupid thing around all day!! LOL Once Barker and Justin came out, of course Barker had to try. Instead of hearing more crying, as he has now spend enough time crying about rides he was to small for and wands he wanted Justin let him have a go. Barker got 2 out of 3 shots and won a Basketball. Man was he proud of himself.

Off to meet everyone at Hogwarts Express- Kings Cross Station. Mom and Dad had bought Park Hoppers so we could ride this cool train and see Hogsmeade. The line up at Hogwarts Express seemed to go on FOREVER!! But we enjoyed being out of the rain and seeing all the cool props around. The train ride was super cool, but there is something to be said for the lovely sit time we had, with AC 😏😏

Hogsmeade was amazing. Everyone wanted to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Barker, and Remy couldn't so Grandpa and I took them to Jurassic Park Discovery Centre!

We met up again and headed for Seuss landing. On the way Kalia picked out her souvenir, which if you know Kalia, was painful. She is so indecisive, shopping takes forever. She managed to pick put a purse in simishort order. Barker was feeling mad again that he is missing out on big kid rides. Justin pumped him full of sugar, in the form of a refillable slushy cup, and they did Caro-Seuss-el (Merry GO Round) and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. They did One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue fish like 3 times. IT was a ride where they twirl around have to steer their way around a obstacle course of fountains. They loved it. Gma needed the time to recover from the Harry Potter ride. She got a bit sick.

It seems like we spent a ton of time is Seuss landing, but Remy and Barker were having a blast! We left Seuss Landing and headed over to Marvel Super Hero Island. To The Incredible Hulk Coaster. Here is where we were reminded how old, yet how young Kalia is. Kalia was the only one of our kids tall enough to ride The Hulk Coaster, she really wanted to go on it, but the other kids were mad as hornets, again. SO we sent Kalia to do it on the Single Rider line. While we waited Justin took the littles on Storm Force Accleatron- a spinning ride. I stood outside the Hulk ride, with Gma and Gpa waiting and watching for Booee. Then she comes running out, almost in tears, she came running to me and started to cry.... She had waited all that time and got 4 people to the front, and she had to pee so bad. Poor Kid! I sent her pee, and then she was able to get back in line with Uncle Mark. Laura, Miles, and Lindsay who had come into the ride about 15 minutes after her. IT was nice she didn't have to wait alone again, especially since she was still a bit upset.

Once Kalia got back in line, Justin and I left her with the other adults and moved on. We had already waited for quite awhile, and she had her aunts and uncles to be with. The Hulk still managed to be Kalia's favourite ride of the day- mostly because they went outside. Justin, Barker and Annaliesse went into The Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man. It was a Giant swing, Annaliesse liked the splash that happened.

Remy was tried at this point and really didn't care to do the ride, so we stayed out, while she ran around and enjoyed jumping around a little water Fountian thing. When all of a sudden this guy came over and introduced himself- although I didn't catch his name.... he is a X man I am assuming??

After Spiderman we did Popeye& Blutos Blige Rat Barges a water ride. It really was not warm enough to be wet, and there was no sun! So we whipped out the rain coats and off they went. Justin said there was another woman on the ride who wasn't prepared and she was very unhappy when the ride ended. The kids wanted to go again, but Justin thought once was more then enough.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong next. Which turned out to be one of the funnest rides of the day. I finally saw Kalia at that point, they were one ride behind us for the last 3 rides, she enjoyed her afternoon with her aunts and uncles.

Remy didn't go on that one either, she was cold from the wet ride and spend some time covered in her  rain jacket. The last ride of the day Justin and the kids did Pterandon Flyers. It looked really fun for the kids and Remy could do it too, which made it a good ride to end on.

We had such a good day. Amazing day. If we come again we are going to do more days at Universal- mostly for the big kids! Such a good day to end on! We didn't take the time to stop for super in the park, we were to busy rushing from ride to ride. We had sea food again before we left for home with balloon animals and everything. Amazing sea food to end a spectacular time in Florida.

This was a trip of a Lifetime. We had a such a lovely time, we will never be able to Thank MOM and DAD enough for this trip. The memories we made- believe it or not I wish I had taken more pictures, way more pictures.
