We drove down to Utah last Tuesday- it took us 14.5 hours to get there. The girls were really good, Daddy kept them busy with movies, snacks, books and toys while Mommy drove.
My favorite part of the drive was when A goes "I don't know if grandma's ok!" K says "How do you know? Do you feel it in yours head?"
Oh darling. A was so concerned we were leaving Grandma and Grandpa alone for a week!
Wednesday morning we took our time getting up (Mommy and Daddy were soo tired, Brother decided to not sleep) and headed down to Temple Square.
First stop the Conference Center. We did a tour with a another little family, which was good because our kids weren't the only ones to completely ignore the tour guide and be super loud!
Justin and I went down to General Conference 6 years ago when we were dating - as we were walking around I kept thinking 6 years ago we were hear dating and now we have 3 kids!
We got to see lots but the girls loved the hall of the prophets, and they sang "Latter Day Prophets " as they walked around the room
Mommy and Daddy liked all the art- especially the original art work from 1953 that is in our scriptures!

The seats in the conference center were fabulous if you ask the girls. A walked 6 rows down then over like 50 feet before I noticed what she was doing. Lets just say it took some coaxing to get her back to us!

After the conference center we met Tammy at the new City Creek Mall. Tammy was kind to watch our little 3 monsters while we went to a Temple session! Below is Daddy giving the girls a talking to about being good and helping with Brother. Turns out the kids were great!
Time completely got away from us, so in order to make the 2 o'clock session we had to run 3 blocks to get our church clothes on and then dash back a block to the temple. We made it! It was my first time at the Salt Lake temple and Justin's second time. We really enjoyed the few hours of peace in our crazy week.

That evening we had dinner at the Mulvey's. They were a family that Justin got close to on his mission. They were really sweet to have us over for dinner, and by the end of the night we were all super bummed we had to leave. We could have chatted for hours!
Elder Clark. aka Ethan, a former companion of Justins came over to the Mulvey's as well. He and Justin chatted and joked about mission stuff… interesting stuff… and all while A worked on Ethan's hair.
Day 2
Shopping, visiting and temples! We stayed at Aunt Karens house and she lives just past the point of the mountain in Cedar Hills. On Thursday we drove over the point instead of around, so that we could stop and see Draper Temple.

We shopped Thursday morning until about 2:00- we had a visit planned with another family at 3:00, so we headed in that direction about a hour early, hoping the kids would nap until we got there. They were super cranky and tired after being up super late the night before
We stopped and visited for a while with the Bartons, Justin baptized him on his mission!
We headed over to for another visit, but we stopped at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It was really small!
The girls took turns taking our photo. We dipped and bobbed trying to get in the photo!
After the temple we stopped for dinner at the Coltons. It was really great of them to feed us, once again we wanted to stay longer but the kids really needed to go to bed!

I wanted to tell you thanks for posting your "annie's chicken" recipe so long ago on your blog. It's the first "real meal" I've made since the fire. (I lost all my recipes and that's been one of the most devestating things to me.) My family loved the meal!
I also love the picture of Justin holding Barker and Annaliesse. So cute!
