Annaliesse broke her Pinky on Monday.
Barker had soccer practice and Annaliesse wanted to go watch, as she has a friend who's brother plays on his team. They were playing on the playground when Annaliesse hurt her finger. She went running to Justin, and he did what every Dad would do, he grabbed it.
She screamed and started bawling.
He figured she broke it. Us being the parents we are, knows that nothing can be done for a broken finger other than let it heal. He got her a finger splint and I gave her Advil for a couple days.
By Wednesday night her palm was turning black and blue.
Grandma and a x-ray tech friend convinced us to take her in to get it double checked.
Turns out she freaking broke a GROWTH PLATE.
Good Blinking Grief.
Dr sent us to Alberta Children's Hospital to get it double checked.
Growth plate is broken and needs time to heal.
She is no longer playing soccer this season, or helping with Lacrosse, or playing the piano, or jumping on the trampoline... or anything really.
She's taking it easy for 6 weeks as we really want it healed by summer.
