Hide and Seek

I love the way the girls play Hide and Go Seek with Daddy.
They play all the time, even while in the bath!
I am sure gonna miss these moments!

 My girls have the best Great-Grandma's in the world. This week we have had lots of contact with each of them!

Grandma Selman (above) is the sweetest 93 year old you will ever meet. She loves her family and she talks about them often. She is such a joy to go visit and the girls really love her.

Grandma Chipman (left) is such a inspiration. She is a retired school teacher and loves to take time with my girls. I hope to be as positive and upbeat as she is when I get to be her age! We don't see her very often, but Mommy has made a goal to go and visit more often!

Grandma Martin (bottom) lives next door to us, and is fantastic with the girls. The girls LOVE to pop in on her, and empty her toy closet and eat her snacks. Unfortunately because we see her so often, I don't have a photo of the 3 of them together.

Toddler Countdown

The girls are getting older, and we are noticing K picking up more and more simple Gospel Principles.

So for Easter I have been looking around for some sort of countdown/activity for The Resurrection.

Couple weeks ago I came across this fantastic Post by Wendy, she blogs at Lessons Line Upon Line.
For a week before Easter she did a picture time line of the last week of the Savior's Life and His Resurrection.

Who Says?

Who Says you need Power to be Productive??

We should be used to waking up to Piles of Snow in Spring, but it still stinks.












We also should be used to losing Power- considering it has happen rather often this year.

HOWEVER- because of the warm temp today, the house stayed warm, regardless of our tile floors!


So instead of leaving to stay warm, or staying under blankets- we did stuff.


Daddy told little sister he would read to her, just as K and I were sitting on the bed to read a different story. So we left for the chair and decided to read something a bit older---

 In Fact- I was able to start The Laura Ingalls Wilder Series with K! I have fond memories of my mom reading these to us, back in the day.

So when Jen called and said they were ON SALE in the Scholastic Book Club, I jumped at the chance to snatch um up!

JJ (Jen's hubby) was even kind enough to treat me!! SO HAPPY.

K was disappointed at first, because of the lack of pictures, but I kept going.

I was completely ready to put it away, thinking she was not listening when she pipes up
"Why was the pig squealing??"

WHAT? You are listening to a book with out Pictures???

Jaw. Floor. Me.

We read a WHOLE Chapter...
remember she's 3!! Oh I Love the fact that my children have taken on my love of reading!!

With Justin's help I even got BB closet done!

It would have taken me forever on my own, stuff to haul downstairs, baskets and a dresser of clothing to sort into sizes, and all the while dealing with "help" from the girls.

I feel slightly bad that his closet is also used for the coloring books, crayons, church stuff and the printer, but it's gotta go somewhere!

The dresser is FULL from size 0-3 months and the basket above is 3-6 months.

The other 2 BINS full of clothing, size 6-12 months got put in the storage room for later!

 AND this afternoon, K went off to her second Friend Birthday Party!! Here she is decorating the present for TJ!

I can't believe she is old enough for this!!

AND- later this afternoon we are off to a Brain Seminar put on at the Parent Link Center!
I'm pumped and ready to learn more about my girlies brains and how they develop!

Generosity

Generosity- the reason for this photo.
A couple months ago I mentioned to a few friends that "hand me downs" would be extremely welcome for our new Baby Boy. I am over-whellmed with the amount of clothing Baby B now has! Thank you Thank you Thank you friends- you know who you are!

Last night at Walmart I picked up some hangers and bins for the craft supplies that are still in 2 of those drawers, hopefully Thursday I will be able to tackle all these clothes!


On another Note:

Ever since our Window Art - the girls are into glue. They wanna glue everything, oh and staple.

I wonder what their next creative outlet will be??!

When I heard this statement in General Conference, it really hit me. I remember having Family Home Evening growing up- and Elder Maynes was 100% right. I have no memory of individual lessons, but I know we had it.

Justin and I do family things all the time, and usually Monday nights we spend time together as a family, and I was just calling it FHE. BUT.... I do know that FHE needs to start and end with Prayer and have a lesson, in order for it to really BE FHE.

So we are striving to start teaching our girls "Celestial traditions through word and example"

Last night we did a lesson on The Living Christ- found on a year of family home evenings.

It went off exactly how I expected- tears, screaming, pouting and a little learning.

I am SUPER excited about Easter coming up, I found another fabulous Idea on blog land, and I cant wait to do a countdown of the Saviors life with them next week! Stay tuned for my Friday post!
