On the 11 Day of Christmas

On the 11 day of Christmas

we baked and made snowman cups for A's special day!

Nuts and Bolts, at our house its not Christmas until we make Nuts and Bolts and listen to Trans-siberian Orchestra!

And of course, homemade turtles were needed!

A wanted to take Nuts and Bolts for her special snack at Preschool. That is fine… but its kinda a simple/pathetic looking snack. So we had to something to dress it up. So the girls crafted up some way cute snowman cups!

I posted the recipe back when we did our Cherrio craft, HERE.

I love watching them open the present together. K facilitates, A holds one side and Brother rips it open. The whole time K chants "your doing so good Brother, yup pull it like that. A be careful let brother help"

After the girls napped, and while Brother was still asleep we made the snow man cups! They turned out so cute, and were sooooo easy! We used foam stickers for the noses that I cut into triangles. The cheeks are circle stamps, and the eyes and mouths permeant marker!

It does take a while… I forgot to take into account A's exactness. She is such a perfectionist in some things.
I CAN NOT wait until she will start smiling normal in photos!
Until then…. this is exactly how A is.

K loved it, she was ready to take control of the whole project… no idea where she gets that.

On the 10th Day of Christmas

On the 10th Day of Christmas my computer lost all my photos….

So instead of doing our countdown activity (baking), I hung out in the apple store while they fixed it!

On the bright side, Grandma read the book to the girls- well kinda;
she said they just kinda sat beside her and colored on or picked their nose.

Happy Birthday A!!!!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday Dear A!!
Happy Birthday to you!

A is 4 today on 12/12/12!

We love you little Sister!!!

A you have such a spunky personalitly. Looking back to find photos, I was hard pressed to find ANY of you looking at the camera and smiling…. lots WITH Sister K. But every time I would go to take a photo of just you, you would pull a horrendously ridiculous face, or not hold still so its blurry! EVEN AT THE AGE OF 1!!!!

This year we will be celebrating her birthday on Saturday when Daddy gets home!

On the 9th Day of Christmas

On the 9th Day of Christmas we didn't take any photos….. and a partridge in a pear tree!

BAH!! No photos :(
The girls even wore their New Christmas Dresses!!!
It the last day of The High River Nativity display, and the Primary sang at it right after church. Unfortunately, I got in there late, Justin was busy chasing Brother, and once I looked up and saw my girls singing…. and after that all I could focus on was A.

For some reason she was doing her own actions to the song they were singing. No one else was doing anything…. just A doing her own interpretative hand movement.
It was odd. Sweet. Slightly Unnerving.

Then right after the Primary sang, I went on and sang with the choir. By the time we were finished the kids were soooo ready to go home!

We did have a nice evening at a friends house for family dinner. Pancakes and laughing was a great end before Justin headed back to Slave Lake. The kids and I read our Countdown book, A Christmas Dress for Ellen, before bed…. well I kinda read it. I mostly cried through it- it is such a special story and it hits me every time! K understood a little bit of it, and A just sat beside me- not sure why Mommy cried through a story! After the story we put a movie on before bed- and THAT is when I finally took 1 photo of the day.

On the 8th Day of Christmas

On the 8th Day of Christmas….

This is one of our favorite Christmas Traditions…
Daddy shopping day/ See Santa Day.

For every Christmas, since we have been married and had kids, Justin takes a day in December to go shopping. He takes all of the kids for a few hours of Christmas shopping for Mommy.

This year was a little harder then others… last Christmas he only took Brother for a while, and he was still a baby so he just slept. This year he screamed, whined, cried and ran away as often as he could. But Justin still did it.

After a morning of shopping we took the kids to see Santa!!!

They decorated cookies while we waited in line!

K asked for a Guitar… again!!!
A asked for a dolly.
Brother chewed on his popsicle stick.

On the 7th Day of Christmas

Friday! The day of joy around here!
Daddy even came home EARLY this Friday.

The plan was for the family to head to the Santa Clause Parade. But I was sick all day with a massive head ache.

So Justin maned the fort all by himself. He read the story…..
got all the winter clothes ready…..
and took the kids out in the freezing cold!!

Justin forgot a blanket, so after we got that situation settled. He settled on the corner by the train station, and before santa came by K had to pee. So Justin drug the stroller a block away to pee… and by the time they got back to the parade route they had missed santa. Thats ok, Justin said the girls were to busy whining about the cold to worry about the Jolly Fat Man.
