Friday.
We were a bit worried about weather Friday.
It was going to be a high of 24. That really isnt that warm.
At least that was my argument.
Here's the thing. It is NOT fun to hit the pool, play for 25 minutes then spend the 3 hours plus, hearing "I'm cold" "I want my towel" "Mommy I'm cold!!".
And that's what happens unless it is flipping hot outside.
(no one really argued with me, it was just me convincing others)
So after the pancake breakfast and a couple hours at a local park,
we packed up and hit Wally's Beach at Saint Marys.
The great thing about the Beach- if you want to get wet- get wet. If you are cold, lay in the sun on the sand. If you are bored, play in the sand, run around or eat. And in this case, there was mud to play in. Lots and Lots of mud.
I picked up a inner tube that morning, and Jen had a couple too!
The kids loved floating around with them and playing, the above picture he is patiently dragging it to the water- quite a ways away.
Oh the Mud.
Everywhere.
Xander was in heaven.
We spent the day at the beach- everyone was pooped. I fed the kids Fruit Loops for dinner.
Seriously.
And THEN I put on the new movie HOME on the TV outside.
Its true. Parenting at its finest, whilst camping.
Justin and G&G arrived as Home was ending- so I even had help at bedtime. Great!
The kids all slept till 7:30!! That hardly ever happens!
We started the day with another pancake breakfast- saw some friends and headed off to find a spot to watch the parade!
The amount of candy was ridiculous.
We thought about hitting a BBQ or something after the parade but thats not how its done in SAB.
Instead we all headed back to the beach! With Nicole, Carter, Jack, Max and Mark and Lindsay!
We had way more help with carrying supplies so brought more.
Obviously.
The paddle board has been a ton of fun- but its really heavy- so Daddy has to be with us so he can carry it around.
The water was so shallow Justin took the fin off and let the kids practice and play on it.
They used it for hours.
Daddy reapplied sunscreen to Barker and only rubbed it in for a second or 2.
He could have been Geisha
In these 2 pics (above and below) Barker is trying to teach Jack and Remy 'Suns out, Guns out!'
Darling.
Grandma bought carrot sticks, and I found out Remy loves them.
LOVES THEM.
It was rather windy and hot, so near the end we resorted to boat shade.
A quick foot race before we packed up and headed back for hotdogs.
Also this shirt I packed Remy is not longer. She could take her arms out and she did. Constantly.
Thats what happens when its a third child with stretched out handmedowns.
This year we let the kids stay up for the Fireworks.
True story.
And I had patience to spare. Crazy!
They kept busy with the tube, and the small hill by the trailer- they rolled down that for hours.
Then onto glow in the dark balloon and then Aunt Jen brought out the big guns right before fireworks.... SPARKLERS!
Sunday morning was... chaotic.
We made it to 9 am church on time...by the skin of our teeth...
But Annaliesse and Remy weren't feeling the greatest.
So after sacrament we headed out- packed up and drove on to our next adventure.
While the kids napped for hours in the van.
After naps Remy occupied herself with her "necklaces" she has been carrying around for days.
