Magic

Brother seems to enjoy pooping alone.

There are only a couple moments like that for him.

In bed is number 1.

So as I am changing him yesterday I say
"How can you sleep in massive stinky poop Brother??"

A, standing beside me,  pipes in, totally serious
"Its magic Poop. Just like a magic wand, But magic poop."

Oh.

Super Saturday Favs

Slow

November has always been our slow month.

It seems October we always go go go…. by the time November gets here our family do-dats turn into lazy Saturdays at home.

Which is sooo nice.

Saturday Morning  came- Justin and I got wood for Super Saturday coming up next week, then Grandpa and Dad spent a couple hours cutting it. Then at the last minute we decided to take the kids into see Ice Age 3.

Err-- so the day started off Lazyish… well besides all the wood stuff. Ok. This may NOT seem lazy to some people.. but it was for us.

After Ice Age we stopped at Jay and Sherliyns' to have cake for Becketts Birthday! Happy Birthday Beckett! At 7:45 pm we told the kids to get ready to go in 10 minutes…. a 1 hour and 15 minutes later the adults stop talking long enough to realize what time it is! So long decent bedtime. We got the kids to bed at 9:45- which is ridiculously late for our stinkers.

Lets just say 2 hour Stake Conference the next day was…… um. eventful. To say the least.

I started listing a few things that happened… but it is kinda of embarrassing to admit all the goings on, so lets just say - they were tired…

And we have 3 kids aged 5 and under.

This is A laying on my head "yell whispering" she wanted breakfast. (PS this was at 6:15 day after daylight savings time… so long sleep) I snap a pic and she wanted to see it. So I show it to her, she screams "my eyes turn RED!!!" She jumped off my bed, flips the light on, runs to the mirror- "Phew they is still BLUE"

Yes the photo is slightly blurry. Justin tucked brothers socks into his pants and he thought it was fantastic. He laughed and pranced around lifting his legs up high for all to see.

A is LOVING painting rainbows lately.

That little boy has stolen my heart and soul. I was trying to keep him awake after dropping the girls off at school, so we were playing "Where's Brother?" He covers his eyes and I pretend to look for him, his laugh is so special and those baby fingers covering his eyes just send my heart into a tizzy.

Aunt Laura came out for FHE this week. The kids sure love playing with her and its been so nice to live close enough so she can just pop out to see us whenever she has time. Their favorite things to do with Aunty are play candy land, paint their nails and play with her hair.

Hearing

Brother does not speak.

He wont say Momma or Dadda or Ball.

He yells to let me know what he wants.

After 17 months of this and no speaking Mothers intuition peaked.

So just to be sure, I spoke to our Doctor. I mentioned I wanted him checked, to be sure that everything was working correctly- so here we are 2 months later. After seeing a pediatrician and her ruling our Autism and Downs (very upsetting appointment) we got sent to the audiologist.

It went ok.

In the first test, above, a small earpiece is placed in the outer part of the baby's ear. The earpiece emits clicking sounds into the baby's ear and the microphone in the earpiece detects nearby sounds. The sounds should echo in the ear canal. If there is no echo, it is a sign of hearing loss. Brothers came back very slow, sluggish. 

Brothers eardrums are vibrating to slow. He cant hear words clear enough to learn to speak. At least that was the first assessment. 

The second test he wouldn't even hold still for. It is another microphone placed in his ear, but he has to hold still and be quiet for at least 15 seconds. Ya that didn't happen.

The third test is a series of sounds and lights. He did great….. er for the most part. 

All in all he didn't really pass. The next step is another test. From the one appointment they can't do anything, he needs to fail twice. The audiologist was overly confident he would fail. So we head back the end of December for his second test. Its tubes after that. Apparently tubes can help drain infected fluid - like when kids get lots of ear infections. AND when the ear drum is having problems moving because of normal fluid. 

We are REALLY REALLY hoping tubes will fix the problem. 

I want to hear him say Momma and Dadda. 

I want him to talk and hear my voice.

He will concur the world someday.

And we are going to watch him, regardless of what happens now.

Pink Foam Curlers

The pink Curlers.

I hated them as a child.

Even though my hair looked cute, they were a PAIN to sleep in.

I swore I would NEVER do it to MY children.

I lied. 

The girls did really well! Until they had to sleep in them. 

Actually there was a lot less complaining then I anticipated.

A loved hers, and giggled the whole time I was putting them in.

K had to be convinced. She was by far the maddest.

Sunday morning we had a meltdown by K cause her part was on the side. 

Ya. It was a big deal.

A was mad I took the curlers out. She wanted them in to show her Primary teacher.

It took some fast talking by Daddy and Grandma to convince her they should come out.

K's hair stayed curlly until Tuesday night… like really curly.

A's hair lost most of its curl by Monday morning. 

All in all they loved it.

As of right now they want them again Saturday night.
